After 10 months and being renewed, I wanted to give it a good run before reviewing. This receiver does not disappoint, great sound through my 7.1 stereo set-up. Also have my projector with the Google TV streamer running through the receiver and the sound is incredible on my 150 inch screen!

The receiver came with no power cord and when I contacted Denon support I never heard back from them.

Using this Denon AVR-1700H as my home theatre centerpiece. As inputs, I have a 4K gaming source, a 1080P blu-ray source, and have a cobbled together 5.1 speaker set. The output is a 4K TV that supports 120Hz and eARC. The pass-through quality is amazing. No perceivable lag during gaming. The setup was fast and very intuitive. The Denon quality is astounding. This unit replaced a previous X1700 that was destroyed by a young male foxhound. The customer support for the previous unit was amazing, but unfortunately "water" damage is not covered by the warranty. I have not set up the secondary audio zone, but with the home theatre setup I have, I do wish there had been a way to output video to multiple displays. I'm considering a 4K 120Hz HDMI splitter to alleviate this issue. This AVR puts out plenty of wattage - I can barely go above 50% before it starts rattling the house. It really makes movies come alive. Plugging in a new HDMI source such as a portable gaming system works great. The source autodetect feature makes this simple to use and breeze when powering up the gaming source. I also enjoy using the eARC audio feature since the TV is connected to multiple streaming providers.

I picked this up as I was unhappy with the performance and sound and features on my Yamaha Rx 4Va. I wanted to upgrade to include Atmos. I took it out of the box, plugged in my speakers, ran Audessy and it's been incredible! I still tweak it here and there but overall it's night and day over my Yamaha. Clear, crisp and tight sounding. I'm running a 5.1 system now but upgrading to a 5.1.2 soon. I have Klipsch speakers and it is exactly what I wanted my system to sound likeI bought this refurbished for a deal and it's like brand new so don't shy away from those deals. It's basically brand new for $350.Very intuitive setup. It's only been a week, but I have zero complaints. I've been a Yamaha AVR guy since I was 17, but now at 42, I am a changed man
