I purchased this even though some were complaining about the drain leaking. I just could not justify spending 300 on an aluminum pan with a drain. Just need to remove the drain bolt prior to installation and apply some teflon tape to the threads and no leak. The pan looks and fits like the original but now I have a drain.Three week update: still no leaks and works great.

Installed with no leaks but I did put teflon tape on the drain plug. Very close to oem design even very similar ribs on the interior.

Don't buy this oil pan! JUNK! I didn't take warning from other reviews of troubles with drain plug issues and bought this anyway. Poor decision! Had issues with the drain plug leaking even after trying multiple different drain plug gaskets and plugs. Also, the LH pan rail leaked fluid even using a Ford pan gasket. Reinstalled the OE pan and had NO leak problems! Some Dorman products are pretty good and others are not. This one is not.

Bolted this up to my F-150 5.0 with 10-speed will be using to be able to quickly drain and fill the transmission fluid more frequently.6 month update: I have done a drain and fill and used Teflon tape on the drain plug threads just in case. So far no leaks. Everything seems great.1 year update: still no leaks or issues at all.

Just like some others have written, the drain plug leaks. I tightened it to the torque spec but it leaked and so I tightened more and it still leaks. I wonder if the next time it’s tightened the thread insert will break free from the plastic cover. The bottom of the pan also deformed and looks as if it couldn’t take the temperature of the fluid.
