Good product. Appears well built. Almost instant hot water. The 2.5 gallon is good for cleaning up-hands, dishes, etc. If you naturally conserve water this model may do. If not, recommend upgrading to the larger model.Easy to change temperature with a dial. I turn my down in the morning and turn it up in evening. That May not be necessary to conserve energy. It Heats quickly and stays warm for extended periods.Highly recommended for high use fixtures that are a long distance from the main hot water source.

Purchased this for my folks because their kitchen sink is as far away from the main water heater in the basement as possible in their house. They used to have to wait for over a minute before the hot water got there and now turn it on an immediate hot water. They said that they could measure the difference in water usage on their bill and waiting for hot water cost around $10/month.The heater was easy to install by itself, just divert the incoming hot water into this tank and then from the tank to the faucet. The only snag was installing an actual duplex outlet for the dishwasher since it was previously direct wired in. Now, everything works great.

The shower in my house especially in winter can be luke warm at it's hottest setting, got this to give it a boost. Takes about a 3-10 min or so depending on how cold the water going in is to heat up fully but when it gets hot, it can get HOT. It's great. Sometimes the indicator light turns off when I forget to turn it off after my shower but I realize that it's just telling you that it's currently heating up the water. If the water is already crazy hot it stops and the light turns off...at least that's what I think. Would not test that and always have it on and heating, turn if off after use. Pretty good all things considered.

Absolutely amazing find. I have an ultra low flow shower system that I designed and since we run off of limited solar power our requirements were very special. Tankless did not work because they draw 3 * the power and that would put too much strain on our inverter, Plus, the minimum flow rate would not trigger the water heater to turn on. However since a 20 minute shower on my system uses about half a gallon we only have to heat this up to temperature and then turn it off for TWO full showers. And the power consumption, wow, I am ecstatic. I did a quick test, plugged in my shower connection to the inlet and a sink sprayer to the outlet. Let the unit fill up with water before turning it on, plugged in my wattmeter, turn up the dial until the mechanical thermostat kicked in. Current ambient temperature is about 83 degrees and dial kick on at about 50% up so that leads me to believe it can be set to temperatures as low as 60 or 70 degrees if you desired. Back to the meter, I turn the dial up to about 70% then I left it. The heater shut off at exactly 3 minutes later. I didn't think it could be much higher so I tested the water temperature with my infrared gun and it went from 83 degrees to 111 degrees. Absolutely perfect for my use. The meter picked up a total of 0.070 kilowatt-hours! Just 70 Watt hours for an entire shower with hot water. I imagine when ambient temperatures drop down to 50 or so it'll probably use double that. Still just a drop in the bucket though very satisfied. Also the surface temperature of the heater after about 15 minutes still feels exactly the same as ambient temperatures. Doesn't feel warm one bit I noticed there is a little bit of closed-cell foam protruding out of the back holes so this thing must have Top Notch insulation

The Ecosmart mini water heater is a great choice for those sinks that take forever to get hot water. We had our plumber install it under our kitchen sink. The water in the kitchen would take at least 1 minute just to feel warm. It was annoying and wasteful. I stumbled upon these mini heaters on Amazon and decided to give the Ecosmart a try since it had the smallest dimensions. We placed it in the cabinet under our sink right next to the garbage disposal. It fits there well, and leaves behind enough storage space for dish soap, dishwasher pods, garbage bags, etc. The Ecosmart plugs into a regular outlet, and thankfully we already had a free one under the sink. The Ecosmart is very simple to use. It has one knob on the front that controls the temperature. That's it. Unfortauntely, the knob doesn't have any markings to let you know what temperature the water will be, so there will be a little trial and error test period needed. We have ours set to just a little bit past the center line. That gives us water that's very warm, but not scalding hot, and perfect for washing dishes and hands. The front of the unit has two indicator lights; power and heating. The set-up works amazingly well. Now when we turn on the hot water we get hot water in only a couple of seconds, and once the hot water in the Ecosmart's tank starts to deplete, in about 2 minutes, the hot water from the hot water heater has reached the sink, so there are only a few seconds where the water temperature drops a bit. The Ecosmart cycles on and off as needed to keep the water temperature in the tank within your set range throughout the day.All in all... a great solution for instant hot water.
