This is a Toslink cable, which can carry digital audio in some home systems, and in pro audio world, it can also carry eight channels of ingoing or outcoming ADAT signal.I got the 150-foot version. I ordered it because occasionally I have long XLR runs that I could avoid by running this ONE cable instead of eight XLRs, using the ADAT standard. For this listed price, even if it survived only a show or two, it would earn its keep in sheer PITA avoidance. And today, this hardcore, heavy duty total BAD BOY of a cable showed up at the door, along with a nice set of right angle adapters, a set of mini-Toslink adapters, and even a little package of cable ties! This cable exceeded my expectations. It is unreasonably good, beyond heavy duty, and really there's not much more to say. If it had been half as heavy duty, it would still have wildly exceeded my expectations.I would suggest one thing--not as a caveat, just a user tip. Because of the excellent construction, this is heavier than your average Toslink cable by a stretch!! Now, Toslink jacks are actually quite heavy duty themselves, and because there aren't wires or electrical contacts involved here, once the plug "clicks" into the jack, it's a pretty solid connection. But you may want to support the weight of the cable somehow. The right angle adapters might be one way to do it. Just consider it, so that the weight isn't wallowing out the plastic on the jacks, if the cable gets pulled or strained. Unlike a lighter duty cable, you could literally pull a small device right off the table with this thing.I doubt home-stereo, or lighter-duty users would even think about ordering a 150-foot Toslink, unless it were for a one-time installation. And just so I cover this...there's no audio difference to be had between this and the lightest possible duty cable. If it transmits light, then it's good. But if you're a person with, say, a recording studio or home studio, a theater sound designer, a live-multimedia presenter, a live performance engineer, then I'm really talking to you. This cable is really a bargain for its length and hardcore construction. The only problem is that I can't give it TEN STARS. A solid five? It's underrated at that. Recommended.
