Bought this in order to upgrade my sons 6v ride on car to 12v and it worked like a charm. The wire is not copper as mentioned in the ad, but for my situation, it didn't matter. It didn't need copper - however your case may be different. It was easy to solder, shrink wrap, and install. Can't beat the price.

This product is much better than what you can get in the automotive store. The fuse holder leads are long and INDIVIDUAL (not a small loop that has to be cut). You can custom fit this fuse into the wiring project plus the fuse holder has a protective cap to keep out unwanted elements.

Due to questions and other reviews, I decided to include some photos and more specific product info.Received a 5-pack of the 12ga fuse holders today. Seem very heavy duty. I ordered the 12 gauge, and my set is labeled as "12AWG" on the wires (you might be able to see this on the attached photo). For comparison, my photo shows a 14ga copper black at top (my own wire), 12ga black copper in the middle (again, my own sample), and the product 12ga fuse holder red wire at the bottom. The fuse holder wire and my 12ga sample appear to be the same gauge.Note that the fuse holder wire (the red one) is NOT COPPER as stated in the product description. Not attracted to a magnet, so not steel. Not sure if it's aluminum, but they are shiny all the way through the cut ends--not copper with a coating. Individual strands are strong and resist breaking by "worrying" them back and forth (I tried).I'm not sure about 12v loads which I'm using these for, but I once owned a home built in 1970 that was wired with aluminum Romex-style wire (they later banned its use due to heat/expansion issues and resulting fires), and the electrical contractor used one gauge heavier wire due to the fact that aluminum is not as good a conductor as copper, or so I was told. So standard 12ga circuits that would have been wired in copper were wired with 10ga aluminum, and standard 14ga circuits were 12ga aluminum. This may not make a difference in 12v auto circuits.Regardless, these E Support fuse holders are well-made and insulated. The other photo shows that these use standard size ATO blade fuses, not the mini fuses. However, a mini fuse will fit in them (I'm not recommending this, but just saying). My set came with 30 amp fuses. Dime is for size comparison.
