I love the sketchbook. Paper is nice …not thin and not too thick. The 4 different tones of paper are a great idea. This is an experimental art journal for me so the size and variety of paper is great but what I was so impressed with is how it arrived at my house. Sturdy packaging and wrapped carefully where bending or water damage was impossible. Thank you so much for such care in shipping!!!!

Saw the journal with my art teacher and it captures my eyes. I love the quality of paper and how soft he cover is. Weight is perfect to carry around and the multicolour paper is great. You could use it for various purposes, it's not suitable for watercolour heavy washes. Light ones only or ink is good

I love this sketch book. It is now all I want to use. The paper is a lovely quality that withstands erasing and reworking. Personally, I really like the square format and the different shades of paper.

I'm an illustrator and have used a variety of sketchbooks over the years. This sketchbook looks cool, but it's no good. Ingres paper is no good for artists. It's too thin, and it will not take watercolor or gouache, much less acrylic. But what's worse, it does not hold pencil well. It smudges very, very easily making drawing very uncomfortable. Ink also smudges. I was extremely disappointed and felt like an idiot for not knowing better and paying for such an expensive item without having seen it in person. Had I picked it up in a store I would have known by touching the paper that it was no good.

This is one of my favorite sketchbooks. I love the Ingres laid paper with the slight texture. I love the size. I've used watercolor, watercolor pencils, ink, and Pentel brush pens on it. While the paper buckles with water-based media, it does not bleed through. You can use almost any pen on it without it bleeding through. The Palomino pencils feel awesome on this paper. The cover is not as durable as a hard bound book (it's a thicker paper). Putting a bunch of stickers on it has helped with the durability, but honestly, my sketchbook is a place to get messy, be imperfect, and try new things. I don't need it to be pristine. If you're looking for something that can take watercolors a little better and not buckle as much, I'd try their Venezia books (although I dislike the binding in them), or the Stallman & Bern books that are designed to handle wet media. The Holbein Multimedia books look cool, but I think they're not quite as good, in my opinion.Photos as follows:Writing: Koi watercolor brush pensLadies: Liquitex ink & Pentel brush penPencil drawing: just a regular mechanical pencil. Palomino pencils work great, too.
