These aren't gonna protect you from getting wet or muddy. I bought them to keep mud and debris out of my front fork arch and my rear suspension linkage. For that they are stellar! I tought of making my own from plastic liter water bottles but the brain power required to fiddle with that was more than adding to cart. The only downfall I can foresee is the wear on your forks and frame if you have a really expensive bike that you want to keep pristine and don't want scratched up. Hey, it's a mountain bike, they can lead a rough life if you really ride them. The time spent not cleaning dirt out of the linkage is well worth it.

I got these for my TREK Marlin 5 gen 2. Purchased August 2023. The pack comes with two guards, one for the front and one for the rear. They are universal and are the exact same shape for the front and the rear. Some people just use them as front guards.It comes with plenty of zip ties and a color instruction sheet. If for some reason the instructions aren’t helping you out there are plenty of YouTube videos walking you through it online. They fit perfectly, and had plenty of clearance around the tires. They’re not flimsy but are flexible.Again this review was for installation on a TREK Marlin 5 gen 2. Yes they fit without an issue.
