Replaced the stock passenger mirror on a 82 Westy, still had floppy mirror syndrome. Fixed that by using a lock washer and copper washer from Ace Hardware. It loads the mirror and locks it down does not move at sustained 65 miles per hour.

Fit Perfectly. Needed to have the nut tightened underneath to make it stay in place at freeway speeds, otherwise same as original.

This is an exact OEM style replacement part for the left (driver) side of VW Vanagons. It seems well made, and it's a lot cheaper here than from the dealer. The photo of this item shows it in the correct position, with the long dimension vertical rather than horizontal. The mounting bracket is held to the door by two philips head machine screws. The rubber/plastic seal that goes between the mirror mount and the door metal does not come with this part. If you need one they can be had from VW dealers. There is a tension adjustment nut under the mounting bracket. I needed to tighten the tension on mine to keep it from being moved out of place by wind at highway speed.
