Very impressed with the power of the motor it really shreds really great That's really what I needed it for comes with extra attachments but I basically needed it for hash browns shredding cheese and so on it was good buy.

I HAD SOMEONE INSTALL A SHREDDNG BLADE SO I COULD SHRED 30 NAVEL ORANGE SIZE BEETS, WELL WHAT A SURPRISE WHEN I TURNED THE MACHINE ON TO SHRED AND FED A BEET TO BE SHREDDED, IT SCATTERED THE SHREDS ALL OVER THE FLOOR TO START WITH, THEN THE BLADE HOLDING BARREL PLUGS UP WITH SHREDDED BEETS, I HAD TO SHUT OFF THIS MACHINE AND USE A SPOON REMOVE THE SHREDDED BEETS OUT OF THE BLADE HOLDING BAREL, i managed to 4 beets shredded in over an HR, IGIVE ABSOLUTELY NO RATING, THERE IS NO CURE TO MAKE THIS MACHINE SHRED AS IS, RATE AS A NONE FUNCTIONAL AND REURNING ALL, sORRY, Ihave over 50 years shreding exp. iAM 91 YEARS EEHHHH OLD....

I use this primary for shredding my own cheese. The hopper takes large chunks but while grinding you can see and hear the motor struggling with larger pieces. Also, when the pieces become smaller the unit speeds up again and ends up flinging cheese on both sides make a counter and floor a mess. Still, it does the job. Vegetable and potatoes should be easier on the motor but I just don’t have faith in the meat grinder addition. This may push the motor to the limit.

I ordered this multi-function kitchen appliance to grind meat, not to grate cheese, make salad, or to juice tomatoes, so my review is focused on its ability to make ground meat. I appreciate that it has other functions, but I really wanted this for hunting season, since venison is important in my family's diet. This little grinder works super well--in just a few minutes, I was able to fill a 3-quart pot with ground meat. Although the directions said the meat had to be carefully trimmed of all fat and connective tissue, I just chunked up the deer meat in approximately 1" cubes and this grinder was able to handle it all just fine. You do need to be careful to use the pusher to make sure the meat goes all the way down into the grinder, but I was amazed at how well it worked. The meat grinder parts are simple and easy to clean, with three separate discs for different grinds (I used the medium one and it was perfect). I'm especially pleased that all the grinder parts are made of metal, and they feel very sturdy. Another positive thing about this grinder is that the parts aren't dangerously sharp while cleaning, unlike most food processors, which have nasty sharp blades that are a real pain to wash. I'm very happy with this machine and would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to grind modest amounts of meat. The instructions say to use the machine for no more than 10 minutes at a time (after which it needs a 10-minute cooldown period before using it again), but I was able to fill a 3-quart pot with ground venison in that time frame. If you want (or need) to grind a whole deer, pig, side of beef, etc, then this gizmo is probably not the best choice, but for occasional family use it's been very useful to me. This appliance may be redundant for people who own fancy stand mixers with grinder attachments, but I find it to be super handy (and a lot more reasonably priced than buying a stand mixer plus meat grinder attachment).

I bought this with the intention of making hamburger from scraps of brisket after I trim the brisket in preparation for smoking, but... I have not bought a brisket and therefore have not used the grinder feature yet. I'll update this review after I do try that feature out.I have grated cheese as well as some carrots on this unit. The assembly was pretty straight forward, and it worked well in both cases.I was a little disappointed that I cannot wash any of the parts in the dishwasher. Obviously I would not put the motor unit in there, but it would be nice if the cutter blades, for example, could go into the dishwasher to make cleanup a little easier. It does state this on the product page, so I guess I should not have been surprised.
