Great color assortment for the price. Thread was easy to use and tied up great. Highly recommend if you are looking to try different color patterns without spending a fortune on fly tying materials.

Good basic 6 color assortment of fly tying thread.I found it to seem a little "ropey" almost like sewing thread and somewhat resistant to flattening by untwisting. They do not specify what fibers are used. Polyester? cotton? nylon? It is shiny so I assume polyester.Using a little handheld microscope, I compared this Lurelink 6/0, 120 denier thread in red to a Danville Flymaster 6/0, 80 denier waxed nylon thread (rust color on the right). As you can see from the photos, the Danville is a bit more rounded off the spool and the fibers separate much easier. I simply ran my fingernail down the the last 1/4" or so of the thread to separate and untwist. The Lurelink thread did untwist but did not separate as readily. It appears the Lurelink has a higher number of fibers which I assume would be normal for a higher denier thread. This Lurelink thread does work fine for tying, the spools are typical size and fit well in bobbins. The price at less than $3 for 150 yds is a bit more (disregarding shipping) than the Danville 200 yard spool. The ad says "Why need 12 color thread?" Then only six colors are provided or available. I'm going to reduce 1 star for the construction, unknown material, and another for the lack of color selection that is available with most fly tying threads.

This seems like good thread. You get 6 spools of 150 yards each, in 6 colors. It is all size 6/0. Seems to be of good quality.

threads are such a nuanced thing for fly tying...some brands make good and bad thread depending on the person using it and their personal preferences. For simple nymphs and dries, this thread works great.

this assortment of threads is a good choice for your fly tying kit. It comes with 6 different colors which are all useful colors for different fly patterns. the thread is thin and perfect for tying smaller flies yet it is a fairly strong thread that will not easily beak off on you. If you have bought fly tying threads you know that this is a really reasonable price for 6 spools of thread and these spools of thread are good quality. I am happy with the color choice and the quality therefore gave it 5 stars
