The Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter with aperture control, Pentax K lens to Sony works well, and I recommend it.Second Review. I have used the Fotodiox K-mount to Sony adapter on a Sony A7R with V1.02 software for about of month. The Fotodiox adapter works really well with Pentax manual focus lenses, such SMC, M and A lenses, from 20mm to 300mm. The camera's metering works well at all focal lengths used with the adapter. This includes the Pentax SMC 28/3.5 Shift lens, when centered and when shifted at maximum rise/fall/lateral movement. I do the metering with the diaphragm closed to the shooting aperture for all of these lenses, i.e., traditional aperture preferred shooting, which is convenient.I am having a very positive experience with Photdiox Sony adapters for K-mount, M42 mount, Exakta mount, and Nikon F mount lenses. See my other reviews. Also note, that you may use the Fotodiox K-mount adapter with a Pentax M42 to K-mount adapter in order to take advantage of the "Manual/Auto" lever on Pentax automatic 42 M lenses, and to shoot with Zeiss Jena preset lenses of the 1950's where the lens mount protrudes beyond the lens mount threads. See my review of the M42 adapter.

Very well made and fits the lens perfectly. This adapter is used on Sony NEX-5N with a Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 lens. The adapter includes an aperture control dial. At first, I didn't think this was useful but have enjoyed having it when using the lens for video. For photos, it's nice to use the aperture dial on the lens to know exactly what f-stop it is.However, I was having trouble with the adapter and the aperture. With the adapter, the lens could only be closed down to f/11.Luckily, I solved this problem. After mounting the adapter to the lens, I first set the adapter's aperture dial to wide open. Second, I closed down the lens to f/22. This makes it possible for the adapter to now close down to f/22. Not sure if this problem exists with other adapters, but this small workaround is not a deal breaker.Definitely recommend this Pentax K to NEX adapter, as there are some great Pentax lenses out there. And I was happy to pay more for this Fotodiox adapter just to know that it will be well made and keep my lens mounted safely on my camera.

Descent build quality, but far from perfect : can't close more than f11 with any lens and the ring is too loose, you can easily change your aperture without noticing.

Using this with a Nex-7 and two Pentax lenses (28mm and 50mm) and it works like the charm. Lock/open for aperture control is great. Build quality is great. Weighs very little. Manual focus only, but that is no problemo, especially with the focus peaking and manual assist of the Nex. To use, set camera to 'Open with no lens.' My only complaint is with the built-in tripod attachment. The bracket isn't as long as the length from lens to bottom of camera, so when you place the camera down, it topples over. Could be a problem if camera is place near the edge of a surface or on top of items. One fix is that the sensor cover of the Nex is about the right height to correct the difference. A minor complaint for an otherwise great product, and at a great price.

When I first got a Sony NEX-3 camera I bought an adapter from eBay that had to be returned because it would work with aftermarket lenses made for Minolta, but not with any original Minolta lenses. I bought the Fotodiox adapter which fit all the lenses, including those made by Minolta, with no problem. Most recently I got the Fotodiox adapter to use Pentax K mount lenses with the NEX camera, and it worked equally well. The aperture lock, which holds the aperture on the widest setting, also works exactly as it should. In addition to working well, the price was actually less than what the one I got and ended up returning cost. I am quite satisfied with the pieces I have bought that came from Fotodiox, and intend to continue buying them if the need should come up.
