Love the giant cupcake pan, however, it is much bigger than I expected. It literally takes the entire box of cake batter. It worked as expected and is easy to clean.

My top of the giant cupcake was done before the bottom was. I wish I would of baked them one at a time but didn't think of that until after. Overall seems like a good pan. I would just recommend baking both sides one at a time.

I read all the other reviews looking for tips and quantities for this cupcake pan and decided to make it. I used a yellow cake mix recipe from a well-respected cook book. The recipe yields a 9x13, 2 8 inch or 2 9 inch rounds. So 1 store bought cake mix or scratch recipe should be fine if it yields the same amounts. This particular recipe made about 6 cups of cake batter. Any recipe that creates 5-6 cups of batter should work fine. I greased and floured both sides of the cupcake pan and put 3.5 cups of cake mix in the “bottom” side of the cupcake pan and baked for 10 minutes in preheated 325 degree oven. Then I filled the “top” side of the pan with the remaining batter (about 2.5 cups) and baked both for 50 minutes. I checked with a toothpick for doneness and let rest for 10 minutes then I ran an offset spatula around the edges of each to loosen from pan and turned out onto a cooling rack. The actual cupcake measured 5 inches at the very bottom of the cupcake and 6 inches at its widest part and it was 3 inches tall, not including the roughly 1/2 inch of cake that will need to be removed from the top to make perfectly flat. The top part of the cupcake is 6 inches wide at its base and 3 inches tall, also not including the roughly 1/2 inch that will need to be cut off to make flat. Keep in mind, ovens vary so your results may be a bit different. I hope this gives someone a good place to start though! It’s an adorable cupcake!

I felt compelled to review this cake pan due to mixed reviews and I have to say - it's awesome! Follow these steps and you'll have perfect cake every time. Use a silicon brush and paint cake release thoroughly all over the inside of both pans. (or you can make it - mix 1/4 flour, 1/4 crisco, 1/4 vegetable oil and mix up well) Use 2 boxes of cake. 3.5 cups go in the lower part of the cupcake and 2.5 in the swirly top. Bake at 325 for 1 hour. I turned the pan at the 30 min mark to make it bake evenly. Let cool in the pan for 15 min and flip out - if you use the cake release trick you will have ZERO problems and one pretty cake! Very pleased with the price and quality!

I was concerned this giant cupcake wasn't going to turn out right and that numerous things would go wrong. However, it came out pretty nicely. I used Pam baking spray and sprayed the pan before I put the batter in. Now, for some reason this cupcake pan comes with NO directions. I used two boxes of cake mix and filled the bottom part of the cupcake about 3/4 full and stuck it in the oven for 20 minutes before filling the top part of the cupcake. (I did this because the bottom part holds more batter and is bigger overall so I wanted to two parts to cook evenly. All in all I had it in the over for 1 hour. I'm very happy with my purchase and my fiance's eyes lit up like a kid when he saw his Birthday cake!
