Got this for my brothers flag, as he was a veteran when he died.I've had his flag for years, stored in the plastic zipper flag case it came in. During that time, the folded flag had developed a bit of a wrinkle on the top corner (visible in the pic). I will eventually unfold, even if just partially, to iron out that wrinkle so it will look better in the case.As you can see in the pic, the flag appears to be a bit smaller than the case, you can see empty space around the flag.Perhaps I need to gather up some Marines or Army dudes (he was Army), and ask them to refold it for me. I'm a veteran, but it's been eon's since I've folded up a flag, and doubt I'd do it correctly.Pros: Case appears well made. Decent finish. Joints are good and tight. The removable back piece is easy to remove and re-place. The glass pane is plexi.Cons: Case seems to be a bit larger. My father was in the Army during the Korean war. I have his flag with case, and this case is about 3" longer on the bottom, and about 2" taller at the top, than my fathers flag case. Dads flag fits good and snug within the case, with no extra space around the flag. This case has extra space around the flag, so will need to refold the flag to be not quite as tight, so it will fit and fill the case better.The glass pane is plexi (why both a pro and con? well, would prefer a real glass front, but shipping, would probably get broken)Speaking of Shipping, This case was shipped inside it's own triangular cardboard container, with thick styro padding on the corners, and triangle styro sheets on front and back. Then this box was inside a larger Amazon box, padded with the wrinkled brown paper. So it shipped fairly well protected.Summary: For the price, this is a decent Ceremonial/Burial flag case. However, it does seem to be just a big over-sized, so will need to refold the flag to eliminate any empty space around the flag while it's inside the case.

The flag which draped my father's coffin had been packed away since 2000. It was very cold and icy the November day of his funeral. I remember tiny drops of sleet falling onto the flag, as we stood in the churchyard listening to the benediction. I don't recall how the flag got back to our house, but it did. After the funeral of my mother in 2010 and as the oldest child, I received dad's flag. Fifteen years later, I can finally display it, properly.To find a flag case was a good intention that never materialized and I consoled myself that the flag was stored away safely. I would come. across it, occasionally, when searching for another packed away treasure and make a mental note to look for a display case. Then, not so long ago, I saw this product.The mahogany is beautiful. I was hesitant about the acrylic, rather than glass front, but it's perfectly fine. This holds a full, burial sized American flag - 5' x 9.5'. It's very well made. The only minor thing I'd change is the lack of a metal plate for personalization, but I believe that's still available as an option.In the not so distant future, I'll be passing my father's flag on to my son. I'm so happy it will be in this beautiful display case and not wrapped in plastic, sitting in a cardboard box. I'm sorry I waited so long, Dad...

The craftsmanship is outstanding—solid wood with a rich, deep finish that gives it a classic and dignified look. The joints are tight and professional looking. The glass front is crystal clear, and the tight seal keeps everything protected and dust-free.My only very small complaint is that the backer board for this display case is a light brown color. My fathers flag did not fill every spec of space in the case and the light brown color stood out against the dark wood. I painted the backer board black so it would blend in.It now sits prominently in our living room, and everyone who sees it comments on how beautiful and respectful it looks. If you’re looking for a way to properly display and preserve a ceremonial flag, especially one with deep meaning, this case is absolutely worth it.

I was absolutely chuffed when I got to opening this box and saw just how beautiful the case really is. The wood is absolutely pristine. It is very sturdy and durable. I was able to fit my flag in here with zero issue. It was easy to open the rear, install a flag, and close it up. For the cost, I was thinking some kind of junky box but I presented it to my husband and he was just agape. He said it looked like it was professionally done and couldn’t believe I did it with this flag box from Amazon. Definitely a good deal for the wonderful result I got.

A beautiful piece for my boyfriend’s flag! The wood is beautiful and of great quality. The flag fits perfectly and will look amazing in the wall to honor him. It’s such a nice piece and at a great price.
