I bought this for use on an outdoor gate because the listing title says "Mechanical Combination Gate Lock... for Outdoor Gates Fences" and further descriptions say "Suitable for gates, parking lots.....Rugged and durable, it is made of high-quality zinc alloy, not easy to rust" and "Applicable Environment: Waterproof and high temperature resistant". However, the literature that comes with the item describing how to install it says "This product is suitable for doors only and not suitable for gates and should not be exposed to open weather conditions" (see photo). Seriously?! What a huge waste of time, shipping material, etc., and a huge inconvenience for me as I ordered it to be here when my contractor was here to install it. The seller needs to get their listing straight and make sure things are described accurately. Returning this item today.

This lock may appear to be just like many others out there BUT IT'S MUCH DIFFERENT and I think it's important to recognize what those differences are. These locks let you input your number code on BOTH sides. I dare you to find another lock that has this feature. Trust me, I looked for weeks and this was the only one of its kind. It also was the only lock I could find that had the security of a commercial style spring latch (has spring latches going in both directions to prevent someone from using a credit card or other tool to open your door.) I've never seen this on a lock for home use! Very cool! I just love these locks...don't have to worry about hiding a key anymore, just punch in the code.
