Gossifan Straw Fedora Hat with short brim arrived inside a thin plastic bag and in a hard clear plastic fedora form protector. The attention to preserving the shape is appreciated. The hat is as described on-line (mostly); material is paper and looks like straw, is lightweight and flexible, can provide sun protection, dimensions measure out correctly, can be worn at various places. It is not: exceptionally crafted (one received had frayed edges showing under glued fabric belt (see photo)), with adjustable "rop" (sic) which might be a typo on-line for "top", of exceptional value for paper hat which looks like straw.Gossifan Straw Fedora Hat fit my 7.25" head loose. Fun hat and not something to wear on a windy day.I believe too that Trilby applies to a narrow brimmed "felt" hat worn by a heroine in a play and novel by G. du Mauier, 1894, titled; Trilby.

I just received this hat a few days ago and while I wasn't crazy about it at first, it's starting to grow on me. First, it's a straw-like texture...kind of like you'd expected in one of those wide hats that you'd wear when doing yard work all day. However, the material is much nicer than a typical straw-hat. The belt is for decoration only and is not removable or adjustable (it's attached to the hat).The hat fits me well and I have big head, so it might be a little large on you if your head is small. Its has a strap around the inside of the brim that will allow you to make it a little more snug on your head (probably not much though). You'd have to pull it snug, then tie a butterfly knot and see if it is the right fit.Overall the hat has more of a "beach" or "summer" feel, rather than a more formal feel, but looks pretty good either way. If you're looking for a fun, light-weight Fedora, this one fits the bill.

Fit a bit large, but I have inserts. I didn't know the brim was glued to the hat the whole way, so it was tricky getting a feather in there (I used electrical tape and a glue stick). But it looks good, price seems reasonable.
