The basic design of this thumb rest is superior to a similar product I found on Amazon. What sets the Hoage apart is that you can actually use your thumb on the camera's Thumbwheel. On the other brand I tried, the thumb rest blocked the Thumbwheel. ?!?!?!The only things knocking this down a star are (1) the lack of any rubber to keep the thumb rest securely in the camera's hot shoe and (2) the rubber pad on the back of the thumb rest is not attached in a recess. This thumb rest is more likely to get lost than some others. Until the design is improved, you should consider buying a spare.

This is a wonderful little full metal thumb grip for your D-lux 8 camera (it might be compatible with the lumix lx100 ii as well, but I cannot confirm for certain)The grip mounts securely and there is a dense rubber section that rests against the body of the camera. The thumb grip makes the camera feel much more secure in my hand.Stable, nice finish, nice feel on the thumb. I recommend for anyone looking for a nice thumb grip.

The Haoge thumb rest fits my Leica D-Lux 8 perfectly. Another reviewer noted it had no rubber to keep it from slipping from the camera's hot shoe mount, but the fit is tight enough that I see no way it could slip. It is perfectly sized, rests firmly against the back of the camera, and does not cover any buttons, so there's no interference there.My only complaint is it's only a small piece of metal--it's way overpriced. (But then, what isn't if it's associated with a Leica camera?)
