I purchased the 12 inch model. I was pleased that it came with an extra battery, a 20 cm ruler, and a screw driver for the battery compartment. It was not at all difficult to remove the 2 screws and inert the battery, but I had difficulty getting the screws started when closing it up, due to the fact that they are the smallest screws I have ever held in my fingers. However, I did get them in.I have no complaints about the caliper itself, and would have rated it 5* if it were not for the case. The case was obviously built for a different instrument, is as cheaply made as it could be, is way too big, does not hold the caliper firmly, has cutouts that don't match the caliper, included ruler, spare battery, or screw driver, has latches that are both hard to operate and don't hold the lid firmly. And finally, doesn't have real hinges, just bridging plastic which is sure to break over time. The case is 16.75 x 5.0 x 1.25 inches. The caliper is 15.3 x 4 x 0.65. My 6 inch Harbor Freight caliper has a great case. In that I'm likely to only need the 12 inch a few times a year, I'll keep it and not send it back.

This is a great well made digital caliper. I like the all metal design aside from the digital display screen. Another thing i like is that you can switch units from mm, inch, or fraction. There is one thing that i do not like. That is the battery cover. It is very hard to get the 2 tiny screws into place . It is a very tight fit, but other then that this is a great caliper

Love it so far.The plastic seems a little fragile.I was using it to measure engine specs and everything has worked out really well so far.I feel like I have to baby it in the shop because the LED section is made of plastic and I don't want it to break.
