There seems to as many pickguard possibilities out there as there are picks. They come in many types of materials, colors, designs, curiosities, and potential solutions. With that said, I simply could not make a decision. So, instead of having to match pickguard color to my guitars, I chose to purchase these clear types. The package comes with 2 guards slightly different in design but using the same basic overall coverage. Laying down a clear plastic pickguard requires 3 major objectives. The surface must be clean and oil-free, you should lay the guard in place to see your final location before removing the protection layers, and finally, remove any bubbles after application. This product comes with the 2 guards, a moistened cleaning towel, a dry dust removal towel, and a squeegee to remove air bubbles after placement. The directions are pretty basic but if you ever have applied a very thin layer of material to any surface, you know the rules. Try to find a dust-free area to do the work. Be sure to use the moistened towel to clean the surface and then wipe the surface with the dry dust-free towel. The adhesive side protection sticker is labeled 1. Remove that sticker and roll the guard onto the surface where you plan the pickguard to be. Using the squeegee, move it outwards from the middle to the edges across the entire guard. Then remove the protection layer numbered 2. Again, squeegee from the middle outwards to the edges until you don't see any major air bubbles under the guard. Very small air bubbles will eventually disappear. If you see some dust or dirt under the guard, that will require you to re-apply the guard. I was able to do both my guitars without needing a re-apply. For the money, this kit is well worth your consideration. Please note that after application, the only way you can tell you have a pickguard is by seeing the edges. The guards are 100% transparent.

I applied this guard to my Ibanez nylon stringed acoustic guitar. The smooth glossy finish of the guitar provided a very smooth and neat application of the pick guard. It took a little effort to remove the air bubbles but the finished product looks great or should I say it is invisible and does the job. Great find and buy. If you have a lot of grain revealed through the finish you may experience a greater degree of air bubbles but I am sure the protection would still be there.

This is an excellent product and does exactly what it says in the description... it takes a while to arrive but there were in fact, TWOitems in the packet... different shapes. It does take some care to avoid getting bits underneath when fitting it but no more than when you fit a monitor shield your on camera or iPod.It comes off easily and can be re-fitted and seems not to affect the sound. If you needed to trim it to fit better, cutting at a slight angle AWAY from the edge makes a better job ie; cutting just off the verticalwith the blade leaning towards the shield... I found scissors did not work too well as the edge they left seemed to show against the top. It's a well manufactured product and has all you'd need including squeegee, cleaning cloth etc.

I though the quality of it would be much better. I have the feeling I could have cut a piece of plastic and put it there on my guitar. I find it quite expensive for the price I paid.
