Easy to use. Works just like a can opener. Highly recommend two people (you and one other). I kept tension on the blade so it didn’t slip from the safety guard (easy) while my soon to be ex-wife turned the handle. Jeweler wouldn’t remove it due to potential liability issues. Said to make an appointment with my Primary Care or go to urgent care. For less than those visits cost and lest time, I had this off in 3-5 minutes of turning the crank. You will still need a pair of needle nose pliers to widen the ring after cutting it. I had one and my wife twisted with the other. This damaged the ring (I’m not going to use it again), but I could’ve put rubber bands between the pliers and the ring to protect the gold. Much cheaper and faster. As long as you can fit the tip of your house key under your ring, this will work. If you have zero room, then go to a doctor.

I tried EVERYTHING to get my ring off after I’d gained some weight (yes, including the dental floss hack), but nothing worked. I didn’t want to have to pay a jeweller or clog up the ER to get it off, so I bought this ring cutter, and it worked like a charm!! No pain, so easy to use, and worked perfectly.

I tried to get my ring off, and found that my left knuckle was just a tiny bit bigger than my right knuckle. I would guess probably from the continuous rubbing and slightly too much movement of the ring all these years?I literally was starting to panic when the ring wouldn’t come off even after using soap, lotion, oil etc. and trying techniques on YouTube that only seemed to make the knuckle swell even more-obviously making the ring even harder to remove!I ordered this, not wanting to have to go to the doctor to have it done. I had my partner help me. Keep this in mind-my ring was not tight on the lower part of my ring finger! It was just slightly able to have a tiny bit of room. If it’s so tight, you barely have room I would be careful because at the tightest point (when the band actually snapped or cut in two-I said ouch very loudly because it actually put that much pressure on the finger. Meaning if it had been super tight it may have possibly injured me or at least hurt much worse due to the tightness/pressure? I would just consider that and be extremely cautious if your ring is already extremely tight around bottom part of finger.You must put the guard underneath the ring, then turn the dial clockwise. The cutter will turn to cut the ring, but the design on it ensures your finger won’t get cut. It works great and fast but I would definitely have someone help you! They show someone using it by themselves in a video on YouTube, but I needed someone to help me for sure! It helps with leverage or whatnot to get the pressure up on the ring band.Once the bands were snapped he took two pliers and pried apart the ring band.I ordered a set of silicone rings and have been so much happier and carefree when I work out or at work! No worries of injuring my finger or having a stuck ring! Highly recommend!

Ideal purchase if u intent to cut rings. Manage to remove 2 rings from wife overgrown fingers.
