1. Unboxing & First LookThe product itself seemed decent out of the box, but the written instructions were anything but clear. Every step felt like a puzzle missing half its pieces.2. Diving into the InstructionsI turned to the included booklet first—big mistake. Vague diagrams, minimal text, and no sense of sequence left me guessing what went where. After 30 minutes of rereading the same paragraph, I gave up and headed to YouTube.3. YouTube MarathonThe official videos were a slight improvement, yet still skipped critical details. I had to replay sections five or six times just to keep pace, pausing constantly to double‑check part orientation.4. The Five‑Hour “Quick Install”From opening the box to the “finished” lift‑top, I clocked five hours of careful, methodical work. Even then, the lid refused to rise evenly—one side sits a good inch higher than the other.5. Round Two on the HorizonTo straighten the top, I’ll need to loosen everything, nudge parts millimeter by millimeter, and tighten it all up again. Realistically, that’s another 90 minutes—if I’m lucky.6. Final TakeI went for the budget option and learned the hard way: you really do get what you pay for. If you value your time (and your sanity), look elsewhere. Spend a few extra dollars on a different model with clearer instructions.

Watch the you tube video. This was so easy to install. Makes it easy to remove my top. Stores right in the roof. Comparative to other models this is a great value at this price point. All materials are good quality and rated for my JLU roof. Took the roof off by myself in 12 minutes

Good instructions that are easy to follow. The 3 1/2” screws to attach wood to ceiling and wall not included but should be. Following install, lifted top with ease and required only minor adjustment to level. Well worth the investment of time and money for the enjoyment of riding in the Jeep open air.

This product works exactly as advertised. $150 for the entire system compared to $400 for the power hoist set up. If you just use a drill with socket bit instead of the hand crank, it works almost the exact same. And MUCH faster due to the low turn rate.Hung from a 12 foot garage ceiling and when raised fully almost completely clears my Wrangler roll bars. It does tilt slight backwards toward the wall, but pitch is quite small. REALLY like that the straps are padded and coated for where they tie into the mounting holes and touch the painted top.Install suggestions:-make sure 3rd pulley (nearest garage door) is offset 1/2in.-3/4in. to the DRIVERS side of center-get your own screws for the pulley frames, the ones that come with the kit stripped really easily on me-have an iPad ready so you can watch the installation and follow along. Written directions are tad bit confusing in parts.-Cut a small piece of ultra thin rubber or cloth to place between the glass bracket and your painted top-Use a drill to turn crank instead of the crank handle when raising and lowering-Place top on the ground to run all of the cables and getting them set to the right length for proper weight distribution
