This was one of the easiest installations of a hinge I have ever done. Just remember to have the right drill bit to drill out the hole in the door. These are high quality, heavy duty, and smooth-rolling hinges.

I like that it came with the screws and drywall anchors in addition to the hinges. The only thing that would make the installation harder is that the central pin is about 1/2" in diameter and according to the directions it would need to be placed in the wooden frame of the door itself. For some reason I thought the hinge could be screwed into the side of the door, not under or above the door frame. I would need extra tools besides just a basic screwdriver. The quality of the metal hinges look good, they look thick and sturdy.

I have to replace saloon style hinges on a regular basis and typically can only find cheap nylon ones or really expensive metal ones. These are a good combination of price and quality. The hinges are a bit more complicated to install as there is a hole that needs to be drilled into the door and must be lined up at the top and bottom. Installation took me about 20 min and based on some trial and error I found that it's good to preload some pressure on the top hinge spring to make sure the door closes properly.

All of our dogs are gone now, so we don't really need a closed gate. We had an old gate that needed replacing and we thought it would be fun to have saloon doors. We already cut off the bottom of our gates for the ferals, so why not? The set is very sturdy. The instructions were clear. It took some time, but we finally got it done. It looks great and the ferals don't have to stoop to get under. Happy reviewer.
