Before I bout this I looked to see which capacitor my fan had. It was only operating on one speed (super low lol) it was free spinning and was evenly balanced so that told me there was a high probability it was the capacitor. After physically checking the capacitor I purchased this one and it worked great... fan now is operational on all speeds... cheap and efficient... great product

I thought I had a bad switch, then I saw a melted capacitor. This was pretty easy for me to install, I have a good soldering setup and an assortment of heat shrink tubes. You just need to pay attention to the wiring you are replacing and you'll be fine.

Aloha,certainly worked well for me. When a Harbor Breeze fan I purchased 3 years ago began to slow down after only about 2 years I kept trying to find a solution to the much slower rate of speed. I found a site online which mentions several potential reasons for this condition. I eliminated most of the possibilities then found this capacitor here. For the price of this item vs $150. new fan I figured give it a try. I've never done this type of repair before so I was leary at first, then yesterday I finally got enough courage & motivation (@ 63 I've lost a little of both) to undertake this task. I installed the fan myself where there was a recessed light fixture & had to make some modifications to ceiling & mounting so kept thinking something may have broken. But still decided to get the capacitor in case everything else looked good. No instructions came with the part but wiring diagram on old capacitor (fan installation/ instructions weren't helpful) & this one were similar. Some of the wires are different colors but I was able to figure it out. The hard part for me was figuring our where the capacitor was located. I first attempted to take apart the motor, then looked online again & found a video which showed it is located in the light portion of this fan. I now realize I wouldn't have had to do so much work removing the entire fan from the ceiling except for mounting bracket. Just had to remove the light portion cover; although working on a counter top may have been easier then overhead. Best of Luck & Blessings.Aloha
