I need to go up on a roof several times a winter to clear snow off of solar panels. A regular roofing harness doesn't work since the safety line connects to the back. A climbing harness would work, but this belt is simpler and more convenient - and a bit cheaper. It's not exactly right for my purpose, since the connecting loops for the lanyard are on the sides - for tree and pole climbing - but I'll make it work. The one I received appeared to be a "return" judging by the taped up packaging, but it doesn't look like it was used at all, probably because of the size. Which is the main thing you need to know:I have a 34" waist, and this belt fits me with about 8" of belt left over; I tried it with my winter coat on and that leeway shrank to 7". Since you don't want to have only the last inch or so of the belt protruding from the friction buckle, I would suggest that no-one over a 36" waist size buy one of these. Or you'll just end up returning it (probably why mine looks like it was returned).

Have a 60 ft tower attacked to my home and been wanting add a cell phone antenna. Purchased this safety belt to see if it will give me the courage to make the climb and am happy to see how sturdy it is made so feel much more confident to make the attempt.
