Acero de cobalto de grado M35
Las brocas de cobalto no están hechas de cobalto puro, sino más bien una aleación de acero con cierto % de cobalto. La aleación del 5% se conoce como grado M35. El cobalto aumenta la resistencia del acero y lo hace más resistente al calor.
Costo más bajo por agujero perforado
Las brocas de cobalto son más caras que las brocas HSS comunes. Pero si perforas metales regularmente, son una buena inversión ya que tienden a durar más tiempo. Con una vida útil prolongada, puedes reducir el costo por agujero perforado.

Punto de división de 135 grados
135 grados significa menos fuerza necesaria para quitar metal, en comparación con ángulos inferiores como 90° y 118°. El punto de división autocentrado te permite perforar directamente al tamaño necesario sin ningún tipo de perforación previa.

Sé vertical
Mantén la broca vertical con la superficie de la materia a ser perforada. La broca inclinada es propensa a romperse durante la perforación. Asegúrate de que tanto la broca como la pieza de trabajo sean estables.
Hazlo lento
Perforar metal requiere bajas RPM. Utiliza un dispositivo cuyo velocidad de perforación se puede ajustar. Ten cuidado cuando utilices un taladro eléctrico. Las RPM se pueden ajustar demasiado altas. Cuanto más gruesa sea la broca, la velocidad más lenta debería ser. Si no estás seguro, comienza desde las RPM y la presión más bajas.
Mantente fresco
La fricción entre la broca y el metal acumulará una cantidad de calor. Es necesario utilizar líquido refrigerante durante la perforación para mantener la broca fresca. De lo contrario, la broca puede freír (derretir) o solo durar un corto tiempo. Está bien usar aceite lubricante y verter agua.
Dispositivo de perforación adecuado
Se recomienda encarecidamente que utilices una prensa de taladro para perforar metales gruesos. Es estable, potente y (RPM) ajustable. Si una prensa de taladro no está disponible, el taladro eléctrico o el taladro de carga también harán el trabajo. Sin embargo, es más probable que tengas problemas a menos que tengas experiencia.

I ordered 5 because I was unsure how durable they would be...I was pleasantly surprised! I drilled sooooo many holes building my overland trailer and these 5 bits did their job with the help of a little oil they held up well. Are they the sharpest? No. But I did not break a single one. Just takes a bit of patience.

This is a nice set of cobalt bits in a metal case, with labelled slots for each bit, each of which is engraved with it's metric size and the "Hss Co" designation. Lots of drill bit for the money, as they go in .5mm increments from 10mm, all the way down to some absurdly tiny ones that I'll never use; but the value is in the number of hefty bits at the upper end of the scale. All bits arrived quite sharp, with no apparent flaws in their construction. As far as their performance, I used them to drill out a wheel stud on my truck, to remove a broken off wheel nut. The smaller bits that I started with worked flawlessly, but one of the larger bits did have part of it's cutting edge chip off, as if it were some kind of coating, but I was using too much positive pressure. The other large ones I used worked great (with my adjusted pressure) and are still sharp enough to be used for future projects. Overall well worth their cost.

My 2nd set from this supplier, other set is in storage. Haven't used them much but they seem sharp and drill well at a great price.

I bought this for maker projects. The pin vise is very good quality and works well. I understand the issue that some reviewers have complained about the jaws not holding straight, however, I was able to get the drill bits to hold straight and securely with minimal run out. The internal angle of the jaws is probably too large and the jaws are plated, which makes it more difficult to set the bit properly. However, it wasn't actually very difficult for an experienced machinist or toolmaker. I would not have noticed the issue if I hadn't read the other reviews. One nice feature is that there is a space inside the handle that will hold all but the largest size drill bit. As long as the jaws are closed they will not fall out.The drill bits themselves were not so good. Hence the 4 stars instead of five. They are not soft as other reviewers have reported, however, about half of them are not sharpened correctly and will not drill. If you inspect them under magnification, it is easy to see which ones are good. It really isn't practical to try resharpening this size of bit. However, you can get quality drill bits easily, so I didn't take off much. For me, getting a quality pin vise is way more important than the bits.
