This is actually better then I was thinking. It works very good even in clay and rocks like my dirt here.

I love this thing. Any time that I want to dig in my yard, I start with this to loosen the soil. The trick is, hold it loosely, so when it hits a tree root, it twists out of my hands and turns off immediately. There's no need to push down on it--the drilling action does all of the work.

Powerful little electric auger. We’ve used it to set a 6” gate post, dig a French drain, and dig out holes for concrete footings. Only complaint is the bit dulled quite quickly. Still, the ground where we live is TOUGH, and this auger does cut through and get down there when the blade is sharp

This auger is easy to use just plug-in to power source and start making holes. 15 minutes after unboxing I had three holes 2 ft.deep dug. This auger has more than enough torque. Not sure when I'll need it again but I will not have to be worried about gasoline carburetors clogging up are any problems like that. I will probably use it this spring for planting shrubs in my yard. The only downside is it you have to be by an electrical socket or have a generator available. I will never buy a gasoline powered auger again. One word of caution if you have rocks, trees (or roots) in the area you are digging this could lock up and you could get hurt. I highly recommend this product. I am sorry I didn't take pictures.

I had to make 8 holes 36” deep for 6x6 posts to install new solar panel racks and this did the job. You need to brace yourself for a moderate jerk if the auger hits a large rock but it’s manageable. I was using a 12” auger and would say that’s about as large as you can go. It wasn’t the easiest job I’ve done but it was way better than doing it by hand. I’m in my 60’s and doubt I could have accomplished this project without it.
