Thought it was metal, should read further. It is plastic. Pros and cons to plastic vs metal. Either way you go you'll have an issue. We have both. Honestly the plastic held up more. We are in the north east.The gloves were way too big for me, let a lone a kid. The tools we metal and solid!

My tall 5 year old loved this gift! He can use the wheelbarrow with ease & is all dressed up with his work gloves & apron. His rake & hoe are ready to go for the warmer weather & the little garden tools are prefect! We are in NH & he’s just been rolling everything around the house for now during the winter. He’s going to have a blast outside come spring!

I bought this for my grandson and he is definitely enjoying it. Four stars because the wooden handles are raw wood. I'm sure that most kids will leave the wheelbarrow outside and the wood will quickly deteriorate. I gave the handles a couple of coats of polyurethane, which I think is necessary if you expect it to last for any period of time.
