Our 2 YO loves this JOYSTAR 12 Inch Kids Bike for Boys and Girls Ages 1-4 Years with Detachable Parent Push Handle, Kids Pedal Bike, Multiple Colors (Green, 12 Inch Wheels). The colors are vibrant and fun! The bike was fairly easy to assemble though with a few little issues. The right training wheel seems to attach directly over the (plastic) chain guard which will crush/crack it when assembled (see pic). I'm looking to put a washer or something as a spacer to protect it. It does come with a universal tool to assemble it, and while I used it, it would have been easier with real tools.Another issue I have is the tires; they're poly-foam of some sort. I question their longevity with consistent riding. I'd prefer real, inflatable rubber tires for traction and lifespan. We like the handle to help push the bike but it does not aid in steering as described. Overall, it's solid for a first 2-wheel bike to get the hang of riding. Our little one loves to take her stuffed animals for a ride in the basket.

The bike is nice, and built rather well for its price. Assembly was easy, and intuitively, I was almost able to completely assemble it without the use of the instructions. It came with all the tools you need to tighten screws and nuts. What you have to be careful with was that the pedals only go on their respective sides. One is marked "L" and the other "R." Each pedal is threaded in a different direction, so if you try to put them on the wrong side, you risk cross-threading the pedal arms. Pay attention to the pedal's directions and you should be fine. For the most, it's a nice bike, but I have a couple of issues with it. First, there is little free play in pedal rotation. It's as if the pedals do not use ball bearings to rotate around the shaft. With many other bikes, if you take your foot off the pedal, the weight of the pedal will always cause it to rotate to the same angle. That is how a good pedal should behave. On this bike, the pedal stays at whatever angle it was when the child's foot comes off of it. When a child is learning to use this bike, they don't always understand that they need to keep the weight of their foot on the pedal all the time, otherwise they may lose their footing, while the pedal rotates away from the bottom of their foot, and then lose momentum when pedaling. They should either improve the friction point where the pedal is mounted onto its shaft using ball bearings, or put some pedal straps on the pedals to help encourage and teach the child to not lift their foot from the pedal.Secondly, the tires are made from dense foam rubber, not your typical bicycle tire rubber. This is indicated in the product description. It's a novel design idea that works. However, if you ride on hard, porous surfaces, like cement and macadam, the rough texture of those surfaces could prematurely wear away the foam rubber, causing the tires to form flat spots. Especially so if the child likes to turn the handlebars a lot without actually moving the bike.

There was a flaw with the seat of the bike which could have cut a child's leg. Customer service was quick to respond and supplied options to get this resolved. From beginning to end, they made sure I was satisfied. I recommend this company and am very pleased with the product.
