Yes, they are flimsy plastic just like the factory ones. If you are gentle when installing and using them they're fine. Mine fit great. Easy install. This kit does not come with screws, I still had my factory screws and reused them.

Simple to install and seems to work fine. A few things to note:1. Comes without hardware, so save your old screws.2. It is important to assure that the window can totally close before you try to close the latch. The latch pieces match up with a tongue and groove fit. If these do not match up perfectly (which they did not in my previous attempt with a Dorman latch), the pressure from trying to close the latch will break it. That might be the cause of the bad reviews. If your latch pieces don't match perfectly, try shaping the tongue piece with a file or sharp knife. These latches haves more play in the tongue and groove fit (as opposed to Dorman's), so it is easier to get the parts to match up.3. Lubricate the window tracks with silicon. The windows will move a lot easier and it takes stress off the latch when you use it as a makeshift handle, as these windows don't have separate handles (at least mine does not). Hey, it's just plastic, surprised the original lasted 22 years!

Just put this in my truck. The material seems a little stiff like it might not last a long time but, it is working for right now. For the price compared to what the dealer charges: i can replace these 5 times and it would still be less expensive then the dealer. There was two issues when installing the new one. 1) the holes where the screws go are not all the same and needed to be reamed out with the right size bit. 2) make sure you put the the screws you remove bacon the same holes. I did not keep that close attention when i removed my old one and found out when I was putting it back together some of the screws would not set completely in there spots. Besides those two things the product for it's price is excellent
