I was apprehensive about purchasing this set seeing as it had no reviews, but it is just what I was looking for. The board and the pieces are 100% marble and have good weight to them. Too heavy to be an on-the-go game but carrying case is great for storage and necessary travel. There is foam padding on the board and attachable foam circles for the pieces to avoid scratching. The board itself looks beautiful, with a couple minor flaws/visible glue that I don’t really mind. 12x12 is the perfect size for a coffee or even side table. The pieces are nice and look handmade. I don’t love the shapes/sizes of all of them. There is little height variation, the rooks look similar to the queen and the bishops are only slightly taller than the pawns. The knights also look like llamas lol. However, I had a hard time finding sets with pieces that I loved so this wasn’t worth taking away a star. Overall, a lovely set! I am very happy.
