Already tested inside with 120 outlet and cooler was very cool. Looking forward to using it on trips and while surf fishing and don’t have to worry about buying ice 😊

I bought this cooler for daily use in the back of my SUV. During the summer months it's handy to have a cool place to hold perishable groceries before getting them home. It's also handy on road trips. I like the size and capacity of this unit. I don't force using the heater feature very often. The listing claimed that the product would cool to 40 degrees F "in minutes". I tested that claim as soon as I removed it from the box using the 110V cord while the unit was parked in my 69 degree kitchen. I placed a thermometer in the box and checked it after 30 minutes. It had cooled to 65. After 2 hours it had cooled to 57. I was unimpressed but left it plugged in and running all night. After 12 full hours the unit had cooled to 44 degrees. I placed 6 chilled bottles of drinking water in the unit and plugged into the 12v outlet in the back of my car. I drove to my volunteer gig and checked the temperature again when I got to the parking lot. The thermometer read 44 degrees. I left the unit in the car while I was "at work". The outside temperature was 67 degrees. The car was parked so that the sun would not shine on the rear lift gate and "cook" the the cooler with direct rays.My car's battery protection system allows the cooler to run for about 15 minutes after turning the ignition off... then it stops the 12v power to the outlet. When my 4 hour shift ended I checked the temperature in the cooler. It was 82 degrees. My drive home from "work" takes 35 minutes. When I got home and checked the temperature in the cooler it was 80 degrees.I believe that a $3 styrofoam cooler from Walmart would have kept my water bottles cooler for 4 hours than this K-Box unit did. I'm quite disappointed. I wasted about $200 on this purchase.

I purchased this cooler for spending 2 weeks in interior Yellowstone Park. Because of the pandemic food was very limited in the park. We wanted to be self sufficient and have our own food so we could focus on the trip and not standing in a very long line for food. This cooler worked like a champ! We ran it empty to cool it initially for about a half hour, added our already cold food straight from the grocery store and we were good to go. We had bacon, sausage, ground beef, and that meat was perfectly cold the whole time.A couple points to note. First you can't have anything sitting on top of it. There are 2 fans that need to be unobstructed at all times. Second is you have to remember to unplug it if you are getting out of the car for awhile. When you shut your car off the cooler will keep pulling on your car battery and drain it. We were vigilant and never had this problem but it's just a caution. I later saw a post from another traveler that they plugged their cooler into a jumper pack instead of their car. It's easy to maneuver, the handle and wheels worked great. We brought it into our cabin, plugged it into the wall outlet, and went about our adventures. When we were ready to eat, our food was fridge cold. I didn't buy a thermometer to test the temperature but every single item we kept in that cooler was fridge cold every time. The size was perfect. At first I thought it wasn't gonna be big enough, but when you're not dealing with ice you can get so much in there.Bottom line is it did exactly what we needed it to do for 2 solid weeks. Love it!

I bought this model to replace a Coleman car refrigerator that served me well for 10 years, then died on the second day of a weeklong vacation. After a few days of use, I am quite happy with it.Having car and wall outlet power cables saves me from having to know where I have placed the adapter that lets me use the Coleman unit indoors. This is a nice bonus. The fact there is a cable management area inside the lid is also a nice step up. The only downside is that the car cable is shorter than on my Coleman--but I have an extender cable, so this shouldn't be an issue.I am happy it will cool as well as warm the contents. I have not used the warming function yet, but it is good to know that flexibility is there if I need it.The wheels are also a step up from the Coleman. Plus, the inside dimensions are slightly larger. This is accentuated by the fact the Coleman had its refrigeration unit on a side wall, which took up an unfortunately large amount of space. The refrigeration unit being in the lid on this model solves that problem. It also does not protrude far into the unit. The larger size and the different orientation of the refrigeration mechanism will allow this one to hold a good bit more than the Coleman did. The latching mechanism for the lid will also ensure a tight fit for the seals. However, when the unit is empty, it does make it slightly more difficult to open to put items into it. The entire unit wants to come up as I try to pull the lid open. This unit is a little bit louder than the Coleman, but not unpleasantly so. It doesn't sound like there's a fighter jet trying to take off in my backseat, so I'm okay with it. With the Coleman, I sometimes had to turn off the car's air conditioning and stereo to be able to hear the fan, to know I had plugged it in properly. I'm not sure yet, whether this will be an issue with this unit.Performance-wise, I was rather pleased with how quickly the inside cooled off. The Coleman seemed to take forever. This one is not absolutely super speedy, nor is it designed to be. It will suffice to say it has performed very well.I have not yet done a benchmark test to see if it does maintain 40 degrees Fahrenheit. However, I have a thermometer and hydrometer I am going to pull out of one of my humidors to test that. Overall, the temperature level inside did seem to be quite adequate.

Just got the cooler today. I bought it for our Travel trailer when we go camping. Anyone who camps knows what a pain it is keeping everything iced up for extended amounts of time. It seems like every day you need to add another bag of ice. (no, I do not have cheap coolers, either). I unpacked it, set it in my living room, and dropped a digital thermometer inside. It was at 74 degrees. Switched it on, and came back 2 hours later to check, and it was at 42. After 4 hours, it never went below that Temp. Seems good to me. I'm figuring on freezing some bottled water in the Travel trailers freezer on the trip to the campsite, and adding one or 2 a day just to keep everything extra cold.Last year we purchased a small ice maker for cocktails, and we also add the extra ice to our coolers from that as well.I will update this review after our next trip in May to the Keys.. Give this thing a real test in the Florida heat !EDIT. So we have this cooler in the Florida keys with us for 3 days now, 90 degrees out all 3 days, cooler is working like a champ.I don't understand why the price jumped by over $100 since I got mine, but if it lasts awhile, I would be glad to pay the difference.Heck, I've got $10 spent on ice in my Coleman extreme cooler already...... The Kbox...$0.HEAT WAVE UPDATECamping at the Jersey shore.. 100 degrees for 3 days now. The cooler is struggling, even after I put 6 frozen water bottles inside.I don't have the means to check the temp, but I can tell you that it's not very cold. Beverages are drinkable, for sure, but not as cold as you would like. I certainly wouldn't keep food items in it in this heat. Cooler is in the shade as well. I may have to put it in the air conditioned camper to keep good temps.
