Great little tool, unfortunately it didn't work fornwhat I needed it for but it has nothing to do with thw tool. I did try it on metal to metal and it worked just fine. Thia was my first time soldering anything lol i did two random cables with flux and it worked well. Unfortunately the actual items i wanted to weld has paint coating so as being my first time wasn't sure if it would work and it didn't lol also i keep seeing reviews that the solder lead gets jammed and that did happen to me as well but eventually figured out the trick to never have that issue again when pulling the trigger. So when you turn of the solder gun after using it the very first time and let it cool down the lead will get stuck to the end of the tube where it's coming out from. If you oull the trigger even after turning back on it will still be stuck and all you will do is jam the lead. To prevent this after every use and the solder gun cools down pull the lead with the pliers they provided and unstuck it. You'll see that you'll never have jamming issues after that. Also with the pliers I clean the soilder pin every time so it wont corrode and what not.

It took me a while before I got to use the soldering device. Turns out the first unit was damaged in shipping ... the heating element was broken. Contacted support and they quickly sent a full replacement ... not just the soldering gun. New one works perfectly.

Auto solder feed is a joke. doesn't feed.No instructions on use or information on maintenance or repair.I would recommend looking elsewhere

Anyone who has tried to solder something small knows it requires at least three hands; one to hold the iron, one to hold the solder, and one to hold the thing(s) to be soldered. I'm no octopus, nor am I adept at soldering, so it has always been a struggle. I don't have space for an elaborate setup with all the clips and arms and such, and I only try to solder things occasionally, in no small part due to the frustration it induces.This soldering "gun" makes the job much easier. Our fancy Ninja blender stopped working, and with this and just a cheap replacement micro pressure switch, I was able to replace the broken button on the circuit board. It works again, good as new. Saved me a lot of time and money.It looks and feels like a glue gun, and it works more or less the same. It took about as much time to heat up, maybe three or four minutes, which is much better than my old iron. The cord isn't heavy and cumbersome, making it easier to wield the iron precisely (and not catch on stuff and knock it off the table!) It's a simple design, which does mean it takes a little finesse at times for more complicated procedures, but nothing excessive.All in all, it's worth getting if you need to do occasional soldering. I'm glad I got it, and I would recommend it to anyone who finds soldering difficult. Since this job went so smoothly, I'm going to go through my old "broken" electronics now and try to fix them!
