Amazing I had a plug in my downpipe that got stripped and wow it’s actually amazing how well this worked just throw some locktite on the new threads you’re putting in

I used this for an O2 sensor thread replacement as my exhaust header bung was destroyed. A thread chaser would not suffice and research suggested a helicoil would be the best option. I took a chance with this product and it paid off big time. I suggest do your research, watch a few videos and this kit will do what it’s intended to do. One major thing to note, you will need to purchase a handle for the tap, being that’s its so large. Take that into consideration as this kit only provides most of the items you will need to complete the job. But for the price you really can’t complain. You’ll need a high speed heavy duty drill for sure, something that has a couple hundred pound foot of torque to drill out your mangled whole, my 12v Milwaukie impact driver did not suffice, so I used my electric impact wrench with cutting oil. I only needed about 4 threads so I ended up using a cut off wheel on the coils but later learned with sharp clippers/snippers you can cut to your desired height. I didn’t take any before or after pictures because I got carried away with the job. And I installed the O2 sensor back in and moved along. But I am writing to ensure the future buyers of this product that it will indeed fix your ruined threads on your O2 sensor for sure. I never used a tap or coil insert like this and I was able to do the job just fine. Any complaints on this product is because the user lacked skill and understanding. The only thing that would have made this kit better would be an included handle but then the overall prices would have went up. Expect to pay about 20-30 dollars for a handle but even then your coming in less overall compared to other options. And you will have spare coils for the future in case you experience this mishap again or need to help someone else out.

I originally hesitate buying this product because it isn't genuine Heli-Coil, which was over $200! I ordered it from a local supplier but it took 2 weeks and still not product. Then Amazon sent me a reminder of this product and the price was reduced to $68 and guarantee next-day-delivery, at this point I could not resist. When the product arrive I was very happy with the over all quality and the tooling included. The project I was about to undertake was a spark plug hole thread repair. The Heli-Coil kit cam with 3 or 4 turn coils but this kit came with 10 or 12 turn coils which allowed me to cut a 6 coil turns which fit my Aluminium head perfectly - Highly recommend this kit!

I ended up trimming the insert, since I only needed about 4 threads for my O2 sensor. It worked really well. I don't know why anyone would have a hard time with this kit. Just use a little lube throughout the drilling and rethreading. It helps with the heat.

09' Nissan Versa bank 1 sensor 1 removal took out all threads with the sensor. I didn't use the drill bit because of how badly the o2 bung was mangled.. just tapped it. The tap supplied works if you know how to use a tap, it worked with a foot + of extentions and cycling with a ratchet so be patient and it will work. The coil / rethread inserts were too long for my application so I broke one for measurement purposes and trimmed another to fit. Zero instructions provided, why break off the coil end piece & leave it clogging or ratteling in your exhaust system when you can break it by pulling it out with needle nose pliers? 4 stars so the newer diy know to pay attention. If you are a diy person lacking experience learn how to drill / tap any piece of soft metal before using this in a more than likely hard to reach and costly piece of exhaust pipe that you can easily ruin. I'm very happy with the $50 instead of the $200+ brand name helicoil o2 sensor thread repair kit, one more beater back on the road for cheap.
