I rent an Apt. I also work in property management and the biggest issue I face is adequate air filters....clean air filters etc. I've always used K&N for any need vehicular air filters, why not home too? It's gross and amazing what this filter grabs! I clean it monthly. It was still cheaper to buy 1 reusable filter vs enough filters to change mine monthly (tile floor, cats, live in the desert - I change it A LOT).If youre sitting on the fence. . . I highly recommend getting this filter.

I'd like to fact that it is reusable, This and will be caused saving in the end. It did not fit tight therefore it drops down on the cover or the grate. But when the air comes on, it sucks up in the hole and does its job. I can hear it when it does it but I can deal with it.

I've been using one of these for about 3 years. I like it so much I bought another for the rental property. Easy to use and easy to clean. Cheap way to make sure my furnace doesn't burn up. One small down side is the plastic frame doesn't seal well so I added some foam weather stripping to the filter box.

I have used automotive grade K&N filters for years both for fluids and air. I was very curious to try this new offering for my home HVAC system.Size wise this 14x24x1 filter is just a hair smaller than the disposable MERV 12 filters I have been using offered by 3M. I concur with most reviewers who mentioned that this may not be ideal if you have a ceiling mounted filter register as this filter does not really fit very snug. It is also quite a bit heavier than a typical HVAC filter. It's made out of a very similar material compared to the automotive grade filters and has a metal reinforcement on the back end. The edge is a plastic shell which felt a bit flimsy.I may need to add some extra padding on one side in order to avoid letting unfiltered air through the system. There is about half an inch gap on one side for my specific wall mounted filter register.This filter is MERV 11 rated and this should be sufficient for most home needs unless you have some severe allergies to very small particles.I will revise the review after I have cleaned the filter once or twice with thoughts on how easy or hard it is to clean and how well does it clean up after some use. We tend to go through filters every 3 months or so when we do use the HVAC system, so this test will take a little while.Given the cost around $40 for this reusable 14x24x1 MERV 11 filter, it should take me about a year to realize any savings compared to a standard disposable MERV 11 filter.
