Has held up well as a Zigbee lock for 9 months. No connection issues and works well for opening and closing. I got 6 months of battery use out of it, and replaced with rechargeable batteries. This is the best kind of purchase, installed it and have forgotten about it since!

Good looking lockset. Returned and ordered newer model do to inability to connect to network. Neither Amazon or Kwikset support was able to resolve the issue. Ordered Kwikset 916 model only to find out it would not connect either. Touchscreen disabled randomly and battery had to to be removed and reinstalled to reenable screen. Would not recommend

Amazon’s AI question tool said it would work with ADT. It doesn’t. ADT’s site says the Kwikset 914 is compatible, but there are different flavors of the 914. This one, the”home connect”, does not work with ADT. The one that works with ADT is called the “Smart Code” 914. Hopefully will save some of you time as I spent way too much time trying to get this thing to pair!

All my other locks are Yale as I like their clean look, but I had to go with Kwikset for one door since the lock position requires/has an extra long plunger thing. Anyway, it integrates easily with my home automation (Smart Things) via Zigbee.....battery life (so far) seems reasonable. The only complaint I have is that the motor that engages/disengages the lock is super loud. I have my home automation lock all the doors at a certain time and the noise this lock makes is jarringly loud. For this reason, I took off a star, but otherwise, I am happy with the lock.

This review is for the Kwikset 914 Zigbee model. I'm new to smart technology but figured a smart door lock was a good step in the right direction. I was looking for a smart lock that matched the hardware on my front door. Relatively few matched and this was one at a reasonable price point. After reading the documentation and reviews this seemed like the right product for me. Unfortunately Amazon mixes reviews and questions for different locks with the result that the actual capability of the lock is not very clear. The only smart thing about the 914 is that it can connect to Alexa and you can lock/unlock it via Alexa/Echo. That's it! This lock is not supported by the Kwikset app. You cannot change codes via an app - you need to do so on the lock itself. It does not alert you when it is used or tell you which code has been used to open it (but you can see the status of the lock via the Alexa app and lock/unlock remotely). So it leaves me wondering - what is the point of having the ability to program 30 separate codes into the lock if you can't discern which one has been used and can't turn them on or off quickly. You pay about $100 more than for a not-smart conventional digital lock for the benefit of being able to say, "Alexa, lock the front door".There is an automatic lock function, but you have no ability to change the time delay, which is set to about 30 seconds. So every time you step outside to take out the trash or pick up the post you return to a locked door! After a week I switched it off out of frustration. Another useless feature. On the positive side - its easy to install and appears quite robust.
