Our chicks started hatching last night. It has been a while since we needed heat lamps. But these all tested to work. They were packed well and arrived without damage or defects. We have a brooder, but red heat lamps seems to keep the chicks from pecking as much. Provides plenty of heat. Also useful to keep well house warm during oddly cold weather in Southern USA. Its always wise to have spare heat bulbs handy. Bright red glow.

Very nice! Screwed right into the existing socket on the snake's heat lamp. Turned it on and we have one happy reptile! Functioned just as it should. Great value for the money!

The Short: I'm using these for chicken brooders to keep my little ones warm and they work great! They do get hot, so you'll want to be cautious about putting them too close to any flammable material. But a great value considering just one of these bulbs cost $10 at Walmart. The Long:* Packaged well, none of the bulbs were broken in transit to Hawaii.* Nice weight to them, didn't feel flimsy at all like some of these heat lamps do.* Heats up quickly and stays warm.* Not sure of the lifespan, haven't had them long enough yet. However, if they do burnout quickly I will update this review to reflect that.

These are great bargain at the price. I was able to get them on review, but considering what I just paid at my local ace, this was a phenomenal deal at full price. These are supposed to be energy efficient, which the ones I've been using are not. I am going to run some tests on them later with my solar generator power box that tells me the exact wattage being pulled by whatever I plug into it. I have not had a chance to do that yet, but we'll be doing that probably in the next week or two. I will update it at that point.I did plug in and check every single bulb to make sure that we had no duds in the batch. Every bulb worked perfectly.I don't know that they put out as much heat as my other bulbs do. I think I can hold my hand a little bit closer to these than I can with those traditional brooder bulb. But it's not enough of a difference that I'm going to complain. I have them in the house, and I hung this the same distance I would have hung a traditional Burger bulb and my quail are doing fantastic. Nobody's acting cold. So I have no complaints.I cannot talk about lifespan yet. I've only used them for the short-term. But if I find out that they are not holding up the way that a traditional bowl board I will let everybody know. Brightness wise they are on par with a typical burger bulb.So far everything is exactly as I was expected to be. Very happy with this set of bulbs.Update. 5-6-25I went downstairs yesterday morning, the day after putting these bulbs into my two brooder lamps. One of the bulbs had stopped working in the middle of the night. So, less than 24 hours and it has burned out. I'm totally docking a star. It could have just been a defective bulb, we'll see, but I'll update again if I have any more issues.

We had three biddies retire this spring (at nearly ten years old, they for sure earned it), so it was time to add some new girls to our little backyard flock. A nearby friend also has backyard hens and wanted to add to her flock, but didn't have the space to grow out chicks, particularly with needing to quarantine them from her other ladies. So, I ordered for both of us and have a little DIY brooder situation going on in the shed as we also have to quarantine new birds from both our house pets and our existing flock. These bulbs are keeping conditions cozy and warm without taxing the 150W lamps we use when we have new chicks. It's pretty warm here in the mid-Atlantic at this point, so we don't need them under fry lamps or anything, and these work a treat. They're a solid recommend from our little hen house with their thoughtful packaging, easy setup, and budget-friendly price tag.
