I love the idea of not having to crawl under the house to run a sixty foot HDMI cable. BUT on my haste to do the job I failed to verify that there was an HDMI port for TV2 on old Dish receiver. But the device functioned as intended. Hate to return because there is undoubtedly some application I will need this for in the Future.

The wireless adapters were easy to setup. You need an open working USB port to plug in each dongle. Pairing was painless. Picture is 85% as good as with a HDMI cable. However sound is transmitted only in 2-channel stereo, not 5.1 surround or Atmos even if the source material is coded for surround or Atmos.

I am not a computer expert by any means, although I may have more experience with them than the average person in my age category. Still, I found connecting and setting up this system pretty straightforward. I was up and running within about 10 minutes.Bear in mind that these units (both transmitter and receiver) require power to operate. It's a minimal amount, but without 5 volts @ 1 amp, you'll get no image on the external monitor. I'm using one of the USB-A outputs on my laptop to power the transmitter, and a power bank to power the receiver and external monitor. My use of this is to extend my laptop monitor. I do some work that requires me to display multiple documents simultaneously, and the best way I know to do that is to put one on the main display and another on an external monitor. To do that has always required a wired connection between my laptop and the external monitor, which created limitations as to the placement of the external monitor. And then I often found myself getting tangled in the cables between the laptop and external monitor. But now I can place the monitor where I like (and I can relocate it at will) and there are no wires between it and my laptop. Here is what I like and dislike about this system:1. I like that it is easy to install and to set up. The instructions are a bit scant, but with just a little knowledge about my OS I was able to get it up and running in minutes.2. I like that it allows me to locate my external monitor wherever I need it.3. So far I like its performance (I have been able to view videos in addition to viewing static documents on the external monitor, and I didn't notice any lag)What could be better?1. It is powered via USB-A, which is puzzling. Why not use USB-C? I am actually using a power bank to power the external monitor (which is the way I need to operate when I travel) and that power bank does have a USB-A output, but it seems that USB-C would be much more useful for most people.2. Although it works for me, the HDMI connector is a full size connector. I have a second external monitor that accepts Mini HDMI input - thisi won't work with that absent an adapter. Again, for my primary use of this, which is for travel, it's perfect - my travel monitor uses that standard. But I imagine a lot of people will need that adapter (and perhaps one for the USB connection).Would I order this again? Yes, I would. And if your system is compatible (access to full size HDMI ports and USB-A ports - 2 of each) you're in like flint. And if I can connect and set it up in 10 minutes, your grandkid will be able to do it in 2!

I am happy that it works without much efforts and makes projectors work very conveniently without laying cables etc. BUT! There is considerable deterioration of picture quality on the output side. The viewing pleasure goes away.Maybe its for the purpose of presentations or other official works, but not for movie viewing.
