I like that it has several different recipes to try. Very easy to make new reactor pods, which I think work better than the one that came with the volcano. My son enjoys helping make new pods for his volcano

Was not what I expected, certainly not worth the money. The experiment They have you do did not work,grandkids got bored very quickly, very disappointed with this product.

My son had a blast doing the experiement that came in the directions. He also enjoys playing with the little creatures that came with it.

I gave this to my 5 year old son, and he had a couple hours of scientific fun with it! The experiment inside is easy to prepare with household goods, you just mix it up, put it in the included pod, and it shakes to form a ball. Then you can drop the ball into vinegar to “activate” the experiment then, or else place it on a paper towel to dry and use later. My son had lots of fun putting it in the vinegar right away, then adding different things like giant marshmallows to see the effect (he said that they were easier to break). It wasn’t too messy either. The only think I didn’t understand was how the little characters inside were to be used. Before opening the package I thought you put them in the middle of the pod, but after reading the directions I guess they are just toys and not part of the experiment. Also I can only see this being used once or twice - not a toy that the kid will be interested in later after the initial “wow” factor. Also there is some instructions for making paper airplanes inside - seems sort of out of place. Great for a gift!
