I got this for multiple RGB strips around a desk area, specifically to be able to put different patterns on each, for interesting effects. I was expecting some kind of DIY control of patterns, which is common RGB apps.Unit is easy to hook up with screw terminals for wires. Remembers settings and restores when powered on, so will work with wall switch or smart plug (to give voice on/off control).Remote gives basic control: on/off, brightness, pattern speed, automatic pattern changing, 9 configurable scenes. Worked 20 feet through walls, not much farther.Music mode has many great patterns, with good response to sound and fading effects afterwards. Colors can be set for some.Banlan X app is OK (no account required). Channel pattern/colors can be set individually. Pattern options are just preset patterns with customization of direction, speed, effect length (how stretched out the pattern is), brightness, and for some, the color. Also solid color. No DIY patterns. Scenes save all channel settings, and can be selected on the RF remote. Groups can treat multiple channels as one, with controllable pattern. Groups can use overlapping channels.Trigger inputs activate when held positive (resistor is fine). Each trigger controls that channel (1-4). It can activate a pattern or solid color. After trigger voltage is removed, switches back to whatever pattern was running before. A suggested use is in a car, with different LED strips for left turn, right turn, brake, reverse.

This is a good option for people who want to control multiple zones. I would say this is best suited for home and not automobiles because the app doesn’t have many sequences for lighting themes. But for a home there is still enough to work well and impress your guest. Also great for mood lighting in any area. Easy to use and to control. With the right LED lights paired with it it has amazing color transfer. Just be familiar with digital LEDs before just jumping into any install. It can get confusing with the 100s of types out there.

Worked well for 3 months.Not able to supply enough power after getting warm (4 beeps for memory).Swapped memory with another workstation -- didn't help. Swapped power supplies and voila: previously good workstation has now 4 beeps and a "bad" one powered up without any issues. Swapped PSUs back and everything returned to its original state.

It soon developed intermittent issues where the system would lose power suddenly, causing problems for the file system. This replacement power supply purchased through Amazon saved the day. It is reasonably quiet and provides consistent power.The only negative I found was that the longest power lead in the new power supply was a little bit shorter than the original power supply, making it more challenging to get that furthest lead connected to the motherboard. It's doable, but it's literally a "stretch."
