I prefer Little Giant pumps for my outdoor birdbaths. They usually last several years. This one is solid, the power cord is heavy duty with 3-prong plug for safety. My only complaint is the adjustment dial is tricky to turn, unlike on their older pumps which were easy to grab and turn.

We've owned many small pumps for our yard fountain for ten years. With birds and small animals using the fountain, the pumps don't last long. We need a pump that produces a 2'-3' 40 GPH flow. The price of these small pumps seem to increase drastically at this range. This Little Giant is very inexpensive. It produces more flow than others at this price. The suction cups that adhere the pump to the bottom of the water well actually work. Additionally, the flow control is easy to find and works by turning a knob, not sliding a small tab. If we had a complaint it would be to mention the coupler provided. We received one that was 1/2" to 1/2" OD. We needed 3/8" OD and had to find a spare piece of tubing to make the couple. Hard to understand why they would provide a couple that does nothing, A 1/2" OD tube fits on the pump directly. Not much of a complaint, the cost and operation still deserves a 5 star rating.
