Klassischer Konzert-Mitschnitt aus ihrer besten Zeit. Steve Perry - anerkannt einer der besten (Stadion)-Rocksänger aller Zeiten - ist in Hochform und seine Bandkollegen sind es nicht minder. Die Tonqualität ist gut. Wer diese Kultband live hören möchte, ist mit dieser Aufnahme gut bedient.

I've been a huge fan of US melodic rock band Journey since first hearing Don't stop believing - a classic of the genre - in early 1982,the first time it was released as a single in my native UK.On the 6th November 1981; Journey performed a concert at Houston,Texas,USA and was consequently released as a live album,and re-issued on CD for the first time in 2005....and what a performance it was!As part of Journey's mamouth tour of North America and Japan,in support of the Escape album - it sees the whole band put in a phenomenal performance at the (unknown to me) venue in afforementioned US City.Featuring the classic Journey AOR line-up of Steve 'The voice' Perry - lead vocals,Neil Schon - Lead guitar & vocals,Jonathan Cain - keyboards & vocals,Ross Valory - Bass guitar & vocals and Steve Smith - Drums.All above give it their all - and more,with three band personnel - Jonathan Cain,Steve Smith and Neil Schon (underrated guitarist? You bet!) - all given solo slots to showcase their individual talents on respective instruments.Bass G player Ross Valory does not get a solo outing - whether by choice or diktat,is unclear!Steve Perry's unique vocal range and rapport with the (mainly screaming young girls) audience and spoken intros to most song inclusions - makes the listening experience even more awesome.This being the Escape tour: it's not surprising that no fewer than eight tracks from said album,are included on this live album version.Go through them? OK then; Escape (LIH opener),Open arms (classic power ballad),Mother Father,Who's crying now,Dead or alive,Don't stop believing (had to be on here somewhere,come on now 🎸😂),Stone in love and Keep on running (not the Spencer Davis group smash of the '60's).all these tracks performed with such passion and gusto - as are all other non Escape lp tracks EG: Lights and Wheel in the sky.Last three tracks; Lovin',touching,Squeezing - SP thanking the audience and a "good night" sign off - penultimate track (18) Anyway you want me - fades out,only to be reprieved with final encore track (19): the appropriately titled - The party's over (Hopelessly in love) - has a rather abrupt ending - but doesn't spoil the overall vibes of a fantastic live album on one memorable night in Houston - in Nov 1981.PS: Steve Perry credited with producing the album - done a fine job to my ears - and must be digitally remastered as the sound quality is superb.Packaging comes with sleeve booklet containing band personnel photos and credits,full track listing,glossy colour and B & W photos and other credits for engineers and studio contributors.I can only highly recommend: Journey: Live in Houston 1981 Escape tour (to give it its full title) to any established or would be Journey fan - superb live album!NB: only disappointment with packaging - it come in a jewel-case cd plastic type presentation.whereas the 2006 studio albums re-releases come in vinyl replica digipack format - minor whinge over- get listening 🎶 (again) I'm my case 🎧🎵

ということで皆様が熱く語ってくださっているので最高ですということだけでもう。。。CD音源よりはるかにすばらしいのは確かでほんとにもう。。。とにかくわたし史上、最高にペリーさんがエモいのでどうぞ。。。それも彼の他の追随を許さないところなんでしょうが、エスケープより前、これ、フロンティアーズ、ソロ出した頃、以降、と全部声の表情が（顔も体もです）違いますので、細かく言ったらたぶん毎日毎秒違う表情をしてらっしゃる、の中で何しろ何もかもが1番エロかった時の、この日この時の、ペリーさん、ご堪能くださいませ。だからソロのPV集も欲しいけど、ソロのLIVEビデオも欲しいけど、when you love a womanをステージで唄うペリーさんが見たかったです！！！

Una grabación en directo del álbum iconico de esta banda de rock. Recomendable.Mi única observación es que en el anuncio promocionan un CD +DVD y no es así, lo qye recibí fue únicamente el CD.Tuve la opción de regresarlo, pero preferí conservarlo

Journey at its best. For a casual fan like myself a very good album with most of their best and Steve Perry sounding great as usual.
