Got the key programmed but the keys internal stuff was wrong so none of the buttons were correct. Worked for 1/2 day and stopped working all together. From the locksmith, the key can’t be programmed.

I was pleased with the quick shipping and everything seemed like it would be good. I took the key to one of the best locksmiths in the area. They have programmed several other keys for me in the past. This key does not have the "G" stamped on it like the other keys I've had cut before. This should have been my indicator to not pay the cut and program fee and simply return it. But now I'm into it and the remote unlock, lock, hatch, and panic buttons do not respond. Key works manually so some portion of it works. Sadly, it does not do what it purports to do.

Disliked: I ordered this key twice. The first time the remote control portion of the key would not set up with my car. After paying TWO locksmiths for their attempt at installation and both of them stating it was defective, I returned it and ordered a replacement. The 2d key did not work either. The locksmith determined that Subaru has (at least) 2 frequencies for their remotes and this key didn't work for my 2014 Subaru Forester - so I returned it.Liked: Although they wouldn't treat the matter as an exchange, both returns were handled quickly and my refund added to my account within 4 hours. I had to try with another Amazon vendor who provided a key that worked.

Item came in on time and in mint condition. Needs no battery. Does need programming and cutting.

Update - Finally got to a good locksmith to have the key programmed. He said it's not a US market key, the transmitter is on the wrong frequency for my car (2015 Forester). He programmed the chip, it starts the car, but the remote functions don't work. Still makes a good backup key, but should be advertised properly.I've been waiting to get this key programmed, but after 3 weeks I've decided to do a preliminary review to share an important point. I live in a rural area and I've called every locksmith within 30 miles of me and haven't been able to find anyone to program the key. I found one guy who had the right tool, but it was broken and he didn't know when or if it would get repaired.It's a fine looking key, and looks like it will do a good job once I find someone to program it, but don't assume you'll have an easy time finding someone to do the job if you don't live near a big city. I'm still looking. I'll update the review when I get it working.
