I’m a technophobic petite human. But I needed to get the humidity in the bedroom area down during the summer and got desperate enough to buy one last year. It had a pump so I thought it would leave me with no work. But having zero experience with such things, I wound up with a very loud rattling sound through the night and parked the monstrosity in the basement, where it keeps things cool and dry. This year I checked out reviews on YouTube for quiet humidifiers and came across one where the guy did a pile of research on quiet dehumidifiers and wound up with this one. It was called something else at the time but a little sleuthing unearthed this puppy. He was right. This is so much more quiet and unobtrusive than last year’s unit. I love it. It was a little heavy for me to lift out of the box but beyond that, installation was simple. I put it in my room, took off the tape, plugged it in, and that was it.It started humming. It sucked water out of the air. Periodically I dump the water out. But I don’t care. The noise factor was far more important to me than anything else. There is no point in having one of these things in your bedrooms if it’s making a racket. In fact, I love it so much that I got a second one a week later. They’re designed for small spaces. I don’t mind the additional cost. I finally just installed the second one near the bathroom in the same bedroom area and now the whole floor (200-250 sqft) is nice and dry. It’s middle of the summer. It’s usually wet as rain. But not anymore. It’s nice and dry.And QUIET.Works great. My only complaint is that it beeps a million times when you take out the bucket. I haven’t let it get to “full” for that reason because a full bucket would trip off all those chirps. Last thing I need is for it to wake everyone up in the middle of the night. I wish there were a way to choose the number of beeps or type of chirp. Maybe have a Bluetooth component with an app where it can alert you that the unit has stopped and water needs clearing. But I’m not docking off stars for that because it’s really just great for the price, performance, value, quiet, and description.

First of all does it work? The answer is yes, but there are some things to be aware of.If you’re like me & jump right to setting things up, there 3 things u might need to know if you don’t read the instructions first:1. The unit has to stand upright at rest for 24hrs before turning on to let the refrigerant settle after transit. (In my case it was lying on its side for most of the day after the Amazon delivery so I can understand why).2. It starts working as soon as it’s powered on BUT it can take 3 days to make a noticeable difference to the ‘environment’ humidity. In my case it was 2.3. The castors are a little project in themselves! …… what’s the deal with the them? If you need to fit them it’s a bit of a hassle. I’ll come back to that later. It looks good & is extremely quiet for a dehumidifier - pretty much silent. There are 3 intakes - my previous unit only had one. It has an easy to use display panel with 3 operating modes plus a timer. There’s also an air filter that can be removed for cleaning which was on my check list (not all units do).Re performance I read one review complaining that it was ‘up to’ 2000 sq ft. Not sure what that was about. Obviously the actual performance is very dependent upon your particular environment - the temperature , humidity & size of room. The manual recommends setting humidity at 50%. My research said the ideal setting for a basement to avoid problems is 30% - 50%, so I set it at 40%I run mine CONTINUOUSLY, at HIGH, with 40% HUM settings in the 1,000 sq ft finished part of my basement which has 75% humidity & it works just fine. It’s stabilized at getting down to 41-43% which is within the stated margin of +/- 3%The tank is smaller than I expected, but obviously that is a factor of the compact design. I empty it twice a day at the same time to fit in with my schedule. Now for the castors - I want to reposition it around the room now & then but I can’t do that without wheeling it. It’s too heavy for me to lift (a sign of the build quality) & it doesn’t slide on carpet with the felt floor protectors already in place . The manual is full of illustrations showing the castors installed but it fails to mention that’s something you have to do.I wasn’t sure where they should go & used the online Amazon Chat Help to discover that you have to remove the felt pads already installed to find the holes. Then I read reviews for some hints only to find people complaining about the holes being too small & needed filing or drilling, or there was excess glue from the pads that had to be cleaned out.Aside from the fit issue that some folks experienced, why wouldn’t they just leave the access points free & let the consumer decide on which option to use - pads or wheels?I haven’t moved it yet but when I do I’ll need help to install the wheels. Having that mobility is important to me. For that inconvenience & lack of thought I’m deducting 1 star. But again, it’s a well designed unit that does the job.I’ll update this review if there are any issues in the future.

¡Funciona!

Does not handle anywhere near to "2000 sqft". Barely handles a 10x5 foot bathroom.I set it up in continuous mode so it's always running to get a 15 x 15 foot workshop down to 40% humidity. It's been running for days now, and it brought down the humidity from 70% to only 65%. Windows are closed. Vents are closed. So no extra humidity should be getting it. Humidifier is technically working, as I can see water collecting and draining out through the hose into a sink. It's just not collecting very much.Edit: After buying a better digital humidistat, I found this unit actually works ok. It's still a little underpowered but it can get the humidity down to the level I need. It just takes a few days and it wasn't clear from its readout exactly what the current humidity level was, and my analogue humidity sensors apparently are way off and registered humidity levels far higher than they actually were.

TL/DR Quiet, effective, compact, quiet, inexpensive and quiet. Only a short lifespan would prevent me from purchasing another.I needed a dehumidifier that worked and was quiet, the Luko 2000 did not disappoint. It was packaged well and shipped in it's original box with no damage. It was easy to set up and get running, I opted to leave the wheels off to keep the dogs from relocating it. My house is 1800 sq ft with about 1100 of that on the first floor, the Luko 2000 is keeping the humidity hovering around 50% no matter what the outside humidity is. We have a full basement with a 4500 sq ft Midea Cube running. The basement unit wasn't able to keep the upstairs dry alone. The Luko 2000 on high with a setpoint of 50% will fill the bucket 3 times a day if the humidity is high enough to need constant running. The bucket is small and located on the back of the unit. It's easy to reach behind and remove it for emptying, just leave a foot or so of space behind the unit. I don't have an easy way to use the continuous drain feature. For me the most impressive feature is the low noise, even on high fan setting. It's about 6' behind my chair, I can hear it but it is not obtrusive. I can watch TV without raising the volume. How your space is set up will affect how much you hear it, but it makes about the half the noise that a window air conditioner does, quieter than a floor fan on high but not quieter than a mini split AC unit.

I bought one for my workroom (where I hang dry laundry) and one for the basement, and I liked them so well that I bought a third one for the other half of the basement. It is stupidly easy to set up and use and even easier to empty out the tank. The first day I used it in my workroom, I was shocked at how dry the laundry was: before, the laundry wouldn't dry even after days on the drying rack because of how humid it is where I live on the seacoast. And it's shockingly quiet, about the level of noise of a fridge – I can't hear it at all if I leave the room.Important things to know:* You can't immediately use it. It needs at least 24 hrs to settle, apparently? I assume it has something to do with the refrigerant.* It comes with wheels but no instructions on how to put them on. There are padded stickers over some holes at the bottom of the thing, and I presume that's where the wheels go (since that's where I put them), but it's not a quick, snap-into-place sort of thing, it's a "am I even putting this in right, well it's working so I guess I am" sort of thing. They do work, and you can wheel it around fine afterwards, it's just frustrating the first time. I put the wheels on the ones in the basement but kept the padded stickers for the one upstairs on my hardwood floors.* The tank is very small (maybe about 2 liters?) if you don't have a way of continuously draining. We don't have a drain in our basement, which is why we need a dehumidifier, so we need to empty it out a lot. The good news is that the effects are cumulative: over time, the amount of water in the air goes down, so it takes longer and longer for the tank to fill up. When we started, the one in my workroom (which has a very small area) needed to be drained about every twelve hours or so; now it can go for over a day without needing to be emptied.* The dehumidifier will also automatically stop when the water is about half an inch from the top of the tank. I appreciate this because I did worry that it would stop when it was full to the brim and then I wouldn't be able to drain it without dripping water on the floor. I can take a full tank upstairs from the basement to dump it in the tub without spilling anything.* After it automatically stops, it beeps at you fifteen times, loudly. I recommend waiting maybe five minutes after it beeps to actually drain the thing – sometimes there's a little bit of water left in the hopper that hasn't drained completely and will drip out on the floor if you take the tank out immediately.* The humidity level will go back up if you go too long without draining the tank and turning it back on again. However, the effects are cumulative: it takes a longer time for the humidity to bounce back the more you use it.* It works better in smaller spaces but it does work in a large, damp basement. It does fill up faster in a very damp space, obviously, but the effects on the air are noticeable pretty much immediately after the first tank fill-up. We bought a second one for the basement partly because the basement tank was filling up very fast and we figured two tanks would take twice as long to fill up.Overall, I'm very happy with them, especially for the price.
