I purchased this machine in October 2021, as an upgrade to my very basic sewing machine. I was looking for a durable machine and a larger sewing space, along with practical stitch options, including buttonholes. This machine has delivered on my wishlist. It's a great machine, excellent performance including making jeans and a denim skirt with ease. Easy to get to know and learn, with the booklet and finding some videos (for the buttonholes). Thanks to Toews, for speedy delivery too!

I had been using a Heavy Duty machine and finally decided to upgrade. This machine is quieter than my last HD. The 7 feed dogs makes the fabric glide through the machine. It runs so smoothly and has no problem handling thick layers. I sell products made with fleece, batting, foam etc. There was no slowing down. It’s a beautiful machine to use. I have computerized machines and they have their place. But if you have heavier work to do, you’ll love this. I have two wants for this machine. One is a brighter light and the other is a curly stitch. There are some decorative stitches. It’s a great machine. You won’t be disappointed. Toews has excellent customer service. I heard back from them on a Sunday night!

I've been really enjoying using this sewing machine so far. It's easy to use, produces consistent and even stitching, and is capable of sewing through many layers of fabric without too much difficulty. The Janome HD3000 was able to sew through the thicker layers of my masks, unlike the Brother CS6000i that I bought initially. I did have a bit of trouble with thread getting bunched up sometimes when working with these thick layers, but I'm pretty sure it's more to do with user error rather than the machine as I am still somewhat new to sewing.I also have to commend the excellent customer service offered by Toews. I called several times over two days with questions about machine recommendations and specifications as well as their warranty and returns policies, and their staff took the time to provide clear and detailed answers to everything I asked. I am very happy with both my choice of machine and the purchasing experience.

I've sewn about 50 years and always on a heavy mechanical machine. When I replaced my last one I bought a computerized Singer, and was very disappointed. This machine has no computerized parts, so less to break down. My issue was to find a machine that was good for both heavy duty and delicate fabrics. I think I've found it. I debated the HD5000 but apparently they are the same machine with the exception of how you can scroll through the stitch settings. You work up and back through all 18 on this one and apparently just from 18 - 0 on the 5000. I asked Toews sewing about the differences in order to make my decision - the owner got back to me within minutes. It comes with all the presser feet you need for most sewing jobs; as well the HD300 BE (Black Edition)comes with a bonus quilting foot set worth 100.00. I am finally able to sew through any and all fabrics for the projects that I want to do. My Singer skipped the stitches at the triple seam on blue jeans. This one did a fine job. I sewed through 10 layers of fairly heavy denim - my husbands jeans. I can also finally sew leather to denim with no skipped stitches. It also does a wonderful job of delicate fabrics. As to the actual physical build of the machine, it is the first time I have ever owned a clean top machine - all of the presser feet as well as the thread are under the top. This is great for no dust issues, but I'm short and have to stand up every time I look for a presser foot or change threads. I'm sure eventually I will accustom myself to doing this blindfolded but for now it is an adjustment. Not a hard one for the benefits of the heavy duty dustfree machine. My verdict is out as to black or white. I'm thinking black is going to show the dust but it's a clean sleek line so easy to clean. Needle threading and bobbin winding are a cinch. It has a manual drop feed for freehand sewing and buttons. When I couldn't figure out how to raise the feed dogs again I called Toews sewing, and he talked me through 'turning the hand wheel one turn'. 😂 Feeling a little silly I apologized and we had a wonderful conversation - after which he invited me to call 'anytime'. No question was too big or small.I also wondered about warranty as I could have bought this in a neighboring city - 120 km. away, (but it is a major city which I don't drive in.) Local dealers will not want to deal with warranty on machines they did not sell. He said that shipping is about $30 to where he is, so they cover that. Before trying warranty they do a face time call with you to figure out problems, but this machine is one of their 3 biggest sellers, and almost never has issues. All comforting words, cementing my decision to buy from them.I also ordered 2 packages of specialized needles(this one comes with 2 general packages) and instead they shipped four to celebrate their 69th birthday. They also threw in a beautiful little embroidery scissor valed at 30.00.I give this machine and seller 5 stars with confidence, and encourage anyone to buy from this company. They send their phone number along (this is good), but even better is that the first email I sent was answered by Calvin Toews in a few minutes, and the second was answered only a few short minutes after that. When I phoned it was him who personally answered the phone. Buy with confidence. I'm glad I did.
