It was good for small fixes but wanted to patch a hole a flannel had was little harder bc the hole was bigger. It was nice for the price. Overall it’s easy to use but hard to finish the stitch with but I’m also not a big craft person.

The item arrived in a nice package. I read reviews and it seemed as though this is one of those "hit and miss" items. It may work, or not. I saw a couple of youtube videos showing the simplicity of the item and how to use it. I was hopeful.I bought the item to do the hem on my uniform pants. The material is less thick than those of an average denim Jean pant. I tested the product out on a cloth towel. It worked well. I was "hopeful."I got my pants out and got everything ready. I started working on the hem and it was initially working well, the stitching was great. However, it would not last. As I continued, on the same pant leg, the machine started getting stuck and the metal part began coming loose and detaching itself from the plastic housing. The stitching began coming loose and it would not catch properly on the pant leg. I could not finish one pant leg. The machine came apart. I ended up using fabric tape and ironed the hem. It took me much less time doing that. However, it's a less permanent option. I would advise to consider something else.

even for a hand sewing machine it is hard to use. the directions are in japanses which is eve hard to translate. definitely should have looked into it better.

This product does not work! When using very thin fabric, I tried to stitch two layers together with the sewing machine. The needle didn’t puncture the second layer reliably, and when it did, the machine didn’t catch the thread underneath to complete the stitch. The scissors were terrible! When I tried them, they were too dull to cut thread. Then due to a bad hinge, the blades could not be opened again. Trying to open the scissors again just bent the scissors at the hinge, totally wrecking the handle. The metal on the blade section was stronger than the handle section, so there was no way to avoid this. The hand sewing needles are okay, nothing special. They’re sharp enough for simple projects, but the eyes are a bit rough and could catch delicate fabrics very easily. The thread is pretty weak, i.e. it is easily frayed.
