It really supports on/off boarding a vehicle. Purchased for my brother and he really appreciates the difference this tool makes for when he is Exiting the vehicle. He's been disabled since 2001, and so on/off boarding a vehicle is "old hat", however never easy. Yet with this tool it has made exiting not as difficult and weight bearing.

These helped my mother in law to get in and out of the car much easier! She has knee problems.

My husband has alzheimer, he's 5'9" and 250 pounds. He's awkward and he uses a cane. I shared his details to help you understand what he's dealing with when he gets out of the car, a Honda CR-V.This support handle helps him significantly when he's getting out of the car. It's a more sure and firm grip that supports his weight. He feels safer.I accidentally ordered two, so I let a friend try the handle out. She is about 4'10", 130 lbs, and uses a rollator. Their car is a little high for her so she has to step up into it. The handle is very helpful for her when she's getting in and out of the car. The handle provides a secure grip when she climbs up into the seat and when she climbs down or off the car. I have her the second one.Of course the biggest concern is, what if we forget and close the door on the handle. The way the handle is made and the way the door strikes, closing the car door on it is not a big deal.It's a very helpful tool. Frankly, I think they should just build the support handle into the door frame. We could just pull it down when we want to use it. (When you see it done, you saw it here first)

great for any age: makes getting into the car smooth. I bought for my siblings in their 80s and 70s. They use these handles each time they get into their cars.
