I have been looking for a couple months now on an after-market storage compartment to go in the backseat of our Model Y for the random stuff that sits in the back seat, but gets in the way of my kids when they are hopping in trying to get buckled. The first couple of storage boxes I tried off of Amazon, the velcro on the back wasn't strong enough to keep the compartment upright, which meant the contents spilled all over the back, which defeats the whole purpose. Then in walks this guy, I think because of the shape, with the little arms that wrap around the center console it helps keep the storage compartment snug and upright and the velcro is not doing all the work. I have been using this for a couple weeks now and the compartment is still upright and holding things, as it should, even with the car mats we have meaning the storage box does not sit completely flush on the floor of the backseat.

I was excited to install this organizer in my 2024 Model Y. It’s easy to apply, but I have mixed feelings about it.1. The bottom fit is not perfect, leaving a noticeable gap.2. The organizer distorts easily, and when you slide it in, the lid cannot open.3. There are no instructions for the included tools.4. The sticky tape is almost useless. It’s difficult to secure the organizer, and you don’t want to leave glue residue on your vehicle. The quality of the glue is poor.5. You have to remove the lid, push it back to secure the organizer, and then put it back in. This process is not very convenient. Alternatively, you can place the organizer in the space, but the tape won’t stick in the back.Overall, there are too many design flaws. Therefore, I deducted 2 stars.

This bin is a great shape for that location. I was hoping it would not stick out any farther than the chair rail pedestals, but it does stick out a bit further as you can see in the image. That's mostly ok though. The fit was otherwise very good, perfectly filling the space and leaving nothing wasted. The lid is precarious, i just removed it, there is no hinge to keep it in place Since there are some extensions that cover the gap on either side of the console, i was looking to see if i could use that space to maybe drill a hole through, and install a nut and bolt with two washers so that the lid will stay put when you open it. The entire bottom section is quite maleable and can distort easily to allow the more rigid lid to open and close using those two wings as a hinge. That's a whole lot of fussing for a product that should just have it to begin with, so i removed a star for that, and for the lack of clearance for a mat.The mounting expects you to use sticky tape to keep it in place. It realy doens't move that much anyway, so unless you hit big bumps, probably not worth gumming up your car. The product ships with some plastic removal tools, i'm not entirely sure of the purpose of these. Presumably it's to remove the plastic molding on the back of the console, but there wasn't a good way to mount this bin even if that plastic part was unmounted from the car. If i did unmount that part, i would more likely want to glue in two strong magnets within so that they would not be visible from outside, then put the bin in place, and drop a couple of magnets on the inside with some glue so that the magnets seat themselves and stay in place and keep the bin solidly placed forever more without any visible holes or sticky tape. I'm not sure how to securely glue magnets to what appears to be silicone or urethane (TPE) bin.

This little bin fits perfectly on the floor at the back of the middle console. It adheres to the the car using velcro strips, and that part is a little weird. The lid of the bin just sits on top, and has a rectangle slot opening to drop in trash. Many things, like paper, straws, small things, flexible packaging, etc, fit into the slot in the lid. Anything thick and rigid requires removing the lid to put it into the bin. The good news is that the lid doesn't just slid off, which I thought it would. It holds a surprising amount of trash. It's easy to remove so you can carry it to a real trash bin to empty the contents. I like it quite a bit, and use it all the time. It's especially helpful for my kids, who are notorious for leaving trash in the car.
