I was very happy when these came. They were well packaged and came without any damage. They can be used for both, hot and cold foods. It just depends on if you're using a steam pan or ice. I prefer the steel to the plastic because they are much easier to clean and do not leave an odor of the previous foods that were in it. If you need small pans for condiments, these are a good choice.

The pans arrived in good condition. The packaging was good enough to get them to me safely and free of damage. If these are supposed to be stainless steel, they're the thinnest most lightweight stainless steel food service pans I've ever seen. I do believe they're stamped aluminum. First, because the weight doesn't match my expectations or experience. Second, the lids come covered in a thin plastic film. This film is a pain to remove. Once it comes off the lid, it sticks to skin like nothing else. It's also wrapped in the stamped seam. You can't fully remove the film because it is wrapped int he seam of the lid. I don't know how sanitary this is with just the plastic being caught in there. Also there are natural gaps created by the way the seams are stamped/rolled. I can imagine liquids and sauces getting caught in there. On each lid there is a cutout for spoons/utensils. This cutout is where the pans become exciting. They're all sharp, have jagged edges, and sharp corners. I cut my finger and bled like crazy taking a pan out of the plastic bag it came in. I figured that was a one-off coincidence so I wasn't too worried about opening the next one. I should have been more concerned because wouldn't you know, I did it again. If you really need food service pans like these, don't care about if they're not commercial grade, and want to save money, then buy these. Otherwise, spend the extra money and get quality and safety.
