Surprisingly good hammer. It has sand in it ( for heft?). Does not damage walls if you are a klutz like me. Recommended.

No se ve como en la foto, se aprecia irregularidades en el pomo y no se aprecia la misma calidad

Wood mallet is well made with hard wood handle. Not used yet, but know this will work just fine for all wood carving needs. Handle finish is a little ruff, but that provides a positive grip.

For a non-woodworker, this is a great value & quality mallet. The green rubber-like sleeve provides grip and damage protection. This is a winner.

Firstly, well done Amazon. 7 days, Monday to Monday, New Jersey to East Yorkshire. Wish Royal Mail were that switched on.The mallet is just right, I’ve got the 20oz version from the “other” brand, which is equally good, but sometimes a bit much. I think the 12oz version would be a bit light. As for the people that have complained on other listings of the same product, about the handle not being sanded well enough, when mine arrived I was expecting it to be like an old gate post. Yes, it’s not been sanded to 400 grit, but so what, you’re meant to be a woodworker, so do some woodwork. You’ve only bought it because it was cheaper that the equivalent Wood Is Good version, same as the rest of us, 30 seconds and a bit of 240 grit paper and you’re done.

Right out of the box it's obviously unfinished and that's fine. I didn't want a lacquered finish that was slippery. The problem was that the handle isn't sanded so it's actually rough. That said a little sanding and it is much more comfortable to hold; just wish Shaaf had taken the time to do that, but it comes from China, so it is what it is. Overall the ergonomics are good. I like to grip it by the head sometimes and the bottom edge of that nylon isn't rounded over so I beveled that with a knife and sanded it a bit as well. I intend to finish the wood with a tung oil or boiled linseed.
