Apparently not a real key. The blade to be cut for a key was not same metal as a key and fell apart when key Smith try to cut the key. Metal just fell apart.

I initially took the fob to a local lock and key store and they told me that only a VW dealership could program my fob. I had to have the key itself cut so the locksmith was able to do that and then I made and appointment at the dealership at the VW one in my city. After waiting an hour for that service, I was called up and had to pay $117 for their failed effort to program the keyfob, which I felt was outrageous but had no recourse but to drive away. It seems the useless fob cannot be returned for a refund either.

This key fob is a life saver my vw key blade got removed from my remote, when I went to the dealership they told me it would cost $400 .00And it would take 4 days and now I have a brand new keyfob with my original blade for $30.00No programming no blade cutting. Thank you for going against vw crazy prices. I just replaced my water pump and intake manifold saving thousands. I love Amazon
