This is supposed to be an easy install, I just bought this thing so I can measure the power consumption of a single room, and I am a 5 years experienced electrician, connected all wires properly but this meter never turned on or anything double check the manual and everything but it is just a meter for god sake it is not rocket science, tried to contact support but dont see any number email address ANYTHING so it ZERO SUPPORT, Please dont waste your time and money on this, do yourself a favor, I think I will buy an analog meter better, PEACE OF TRASH

Internally this is a single pole switch with current and voltage monitoring. When connecting remember the “N” terminals are not switched, only the “L” terminals are. This is important for two reasons:1) Obviously mid wiring will leave the “hot” L line live.2) When wiring a split phase 240 vac appliance such as a water heater or clothes dryer, one leg will always be “hot”.Exercise awareness and caution.Additionally, the monitoring function only looks at the current through the “L” line, so will misreport the current and power of any 240 vac appliance that uses the “Neutral” wire in addition to the the L1 and L2.Just be aware that this product was not designed for the US market as anything safe on 240 vac appliances. The WiFi function is easy and reliable with the pervasive Tuya Smartlife app. The data collection and display function is well suited for all but the extreme professionals.

I installed this in my travel trailer to monitor total AC consumption. As such i expect as much as 30 amps could potentially go through this thing. So i hooked it up with fairly stiff 8 gauge wire, (looks about same size as incoming cable), which i thought sensible and which it easily accommodates that large a wire. Only, the clamps are thin aluminum and DO NOT GRIP the wires. At first they *seemed* secure but then multiple times as i was hooking up the other inputs, other wires just randomly popped out. I cranked the screws much harder than i thought appropriate but they still wouldn't hold.I'm using the thing but all the wires in and out are secured with cable ties so there is no possible strain or movement. I expect i will probably dismantle it and flash with Tasmota, at which point i will take the opportunity to make more solid connections. I'm not thrilled with proprietary apps and cloud services anyhow.I'm happy to live at a time when consumers can afford such technological niceties but i can't in good conscience praise this particular device as it is. Because as it is, it is cheesy.
